Will end in tears this, Donna not fit to lace Eddie at the one thing Pep commands, he has the footwork of a giraffe on skates, superior in every other department but 5/10 with the ball at feet, unless Pep is going all fat Sam to shake up the prem, with a revie plan for the Viking and whoever we play off him )8
We’d certainly miss Ederson for the build up and his calmness when we just pop it about so nonchalantly. It would certainly require some change but i think some of it is exaggerated. As people have said PSG play out from the back. We played great football before Pep and with Joe Hart in net. I can’t deny i’m a little surprised we’re in for him because of Pep though. However, on the flip side it would be great to have a keeper capable of pulling off worldies and if he’s good on one on ones that would certainly get us plenty of points over a season. When Hart was at his best i was surprised when he didn’t save a one v one and it’s similar a lot with Alison. These days i’m pleasantly surprised when a one v one doesn’t end up straight in the back of our net.

Really hope we get him, Eddie has checked out mentally and Trafford will still fight for his place.
Agree . Already at the cwc ederson didn’t really look arsed and made usual silly mistakes . If he stays like everyone wants then by September he will be getting slated for mistakes .

Edersons "ability on the ball" has completely gone to shit the last year

He doesn't look arsed, he makes so many stupid mistakes now and he doesnt make smart passes anymore, his passes to our defence put then under pressure

Ironically the passes he does succeed at are the long ones, but they aren't often enough

He doesnt have the hunger anymore, he needs a new challenge hes just checked out mentally for us

And if his ability on the ball is compromised, his shot stopping get exposed

I dont really understand Donnarumma while Pep is here, but the guy is a world class shsot stopper

Allison isn't great with his feet yet hes a world class shot stopper and Liverpool haven't had too many issues

We may conceed a few goals playing out from the back, but atm every shot on goal ends up in our net

Feel free Trafford but when a talent like Donnarumma becomes available it's hard not to go for it

All time fave? Bloody hell in some games in our pomp he had about 7 touches
I've played goalkeeper my entire life so its something i naturally gravitate to. (At one point in my childhood I'd have told anyone Nicky Weaver was the David Seaman replacement for England)

A lot of my all time favourite players outside of City are keepers and I especially enjoy the eccentric weirdos of the position. Ederson is as eccentric as they come.

Obviously there's still the likes of Zaba, Kompany, Aguero, Rodri, Fernandinho etc who I've enjoyed too, but I'm just a goalkeeper guy really.

Joe did have a tendency to welly the ball into the car park to be fair.

Thought you might be able art of keepers union mate. I’d defo agree he’s my favourite City keeper. He’s been tremendous for us and I’m not entirely sure he gets the credit he deserves at times.

Maybe explains why Neil Warnock was at the club for a few days ;-)

Did he not just win the Champions League with PSG who play out from the back quite a lot?
Yes but they have replaced him with a younger keeper who is better at that aspect of the job and also more aggressive at coming for crosses. There was an article in The Athletic whose bent was that the change was to allow PSG to build better from the back by having a keeper who was good under pressure and play as an 11th outfield player whilst in possession.

I wonder what Joe Hart is thinking at the moment?

Seems like some fans have a short memory, whilst it maybe the right time for Ederson to leave he has been a fantastic signing.
It has been a hilarious read tbf.

'Need ederson to leave, he has been poor this season, not what he once was, get him sold and replaced'
Headline: edrerson likely to stay
'He has been great for us, we depend on his footwork, no other keeper suits us, he singlehandedly won us the CL'
interest in Trafford'
'championship keeper, not ready, can't play with his feet, can't be number 1, need another top keeper'
Trafford signs
'will be our no.1 for the next decade, great to bring our own back, great example for all academy prospects that they have a future, better than ederson at being a hoalie, will replace Ederson at no.1. Glad we didn't go for an exoensive established keeper and put our faith in one of our own, worth it for the nostalgia alone'
Linked with Donnarumma
'fuck Trafford, we only signed him because he is club trained, he can sit on the bench and the get papped to newcastle, we finally get a keeper who can make saves, ederson couldn't save a word file, this guy is the best of the best'
ederson linked with a move again
'He is shit, we need rid, he has never made a save for us etc etc

You lose something but also gain something with this transfer. Lose Ederson's ability on the ball, but gain one of the best shot stoppers in the world.

Er yes. So forego a keeper that suits our style of play, for one that is redundant 99% of the time.

John Mitchell sums this situation up best.
Don't it always seem to go.........
