Gigs Thread

Gorillaz on Saturday
I'm off to see them tonight at a "warm-up" gig at Bradford Live before the arena dates.

Went to see Nightmares on Wax at Royal Albert Hall on Thursday.

He played with a live band/orchestra Smokers Delight in the first section, then after the interval In a Space Outta Sound.

Marvellous!

How was the warm up gig?
Really good m8

Setlist was a mixture of The Mountain & back catalogue. Visuals as you'd expect were excellent.

As First Direct Arena looks to have limited floor space compared to other similar size venues for standing, I think going to Bradford Live was better. If I hadn't got a ticket for the warm up I would have probably looked at Co-Op Live for tickets rather than Leeds.

Looking forward to it .. thought we had nailed it ... Palace game then the gig but obviously not.
Had tickets for one of their Copper Box shows but ended up selling.

Went to the Bridgewater Hall last night to watch ‘ahem’ 10cc.

Okay it was just Graham Gouldman, and a couple of long stand in members.

Lots of his own stuff that veered between interesting to banal to meh but, the musicianship was a delight.

Every song you demanded was there, and to hear The Things We Do For Love, I’m Not In Love & Dreadlock Holiday live for the first time was well worth the admission.

Encore of an acapella Donna followed by ridiculously energetic and enjoyable geriatric version of ( well they got this 61 years old dancing along!) Rubber Bullets sent everyone home happy.

Big montage video as the gig began included a picture of a City team line up circa early 70’s of course gave a nod not just to his Dad, but City and their collaboration on the Boys in Blue.

Never realised how much he wrote for other bands and a really emotional acoustic version of The Hollies - Bus Stop was just in the perfect segment of the show - he’s nearly 80 and shows no sign of slowing down.

Mancunian Legend.

Watching Oli Brown and the Dead collective end of April, Anthony Gomes end of July, both at the Waterloo in Blackpool, Walter Trout after that in Southport…
