Gigs Thread

Other half just bought me ticket for Bruce Springsteen at wembley in July (late birthday present). Seen him few times before with 1st being 40 years ago at Slane castle

Off to see Manchesters finest The slow readers club tomorrow at the devils arse cavern ,should be different.

I hadn’t seen Liam Gallagher live since 2000, when I pretty much gave up on Oasis. I was really reluctant to see him live again, but got offered a freebie for the Co-Op last Thursday. He really was outstanding, what a showman, an off the scale atmosphere and of course back to back classics.

Next is The National on Thursday at Castlefield Bowl and tickets booked for Ride, Wunderhorse and Fontaines later in the year (not together).

I caught pearl jam, green day(again) , janes addiction and Lcd SS (again). All were great.
Although I don't listen to them these days as much as other bands I like, I saw Green Day at Lancashire Cricket ground on their 21st century breakdown tour in 2010. Very good live I have to say, and Billie Joe Armstrong is without doubt one of the best front men (or front women for that matter) I've seen . Similair to Dave Grohl (who I saw with Foo Fighters on our very own hallowed turf back in 2008)n the respect that he seems to really want to put on a proper show and for everyone to really enjoy it (clichéd though that probably sounds).
Totally different character and another Billy, Mr Corgan wasn't particularly engaging at Co-op live a few weeks back (mind you it's probably part of his persona) That's not so say The Smashing Pumpkins weren't good ,they're great musicians and have done so many great songs which certainly 'rocked' live for sure!

Away from the big American Stadium/Arena bands, I'm off to see Skindred in Liverpool later in the year. It's only recently that I've started listening to them, I've seen live recordings of Skindred's festival performances a few times and they do look good, them , has anyone on here seen them ?

Great band live, seen them twice, you’ll have a great time.
