Not sure you can get more political than watching Billy Bragg playing for a Hope Not Hate fundraiser at a gig sponsored by Aslef. Just done that in Sheffield and he was brilliant

You should be okay with either Idles or Lankum, then a quick dash over to the big top for Baxter. I caught Richard Hawley at Black Deer last year, he and the band were great, highly recommended if you're not sure who to see on the Saturday night.

I think those times are spot on, yeah it will be heaving in there, and getting in can be a problem. I normally do a slow walk over at 10.55 just before the crowds and get in.

Last time i saw both on the same night was at the Palace Theatre in 1985
