Look,seems obvious but dogs are ANIMALS.They are not meant to sleep on slumberland beds with continental quilts.Lie on axminster rugs in front of log effect gas fires.They are pack animals with an instinct to hunt.
There should only be working dogs,ie ,guide dogs,police dogs.sheep dogs and sniffer dogs and such like.
If my kids want to see ANIMALS I take them to the zoo.

Hmm... Seems a bit of a specious point this one; by that rationale we are all simians and ought not to be enjoying the luxuries you list. Quite aside from the devastating impact following your logic would have on the slumberland beds economy, I don't feel well equipped to live in a cave...

You also ignore those dogs that could work but choose not to; should they have their benefits withdrawn and any spare rooms in their council kennels rented out?

doesn't matter what breed or if it was a loving family dog,people forget they can turn on you anytime.shocks me that folk leave young kids alone with dogs,although i see this is a 15yr old in this case

Look at all the toy dogs you rParis Hilton's have and such.

I disagree about the 'only working dogs' thing to.
They can be great companions and give a lot of love to their family.

Indeed many children are introduced to nature and wildlife via the family pet.
I loved my dog as a kid and they taught me to be share, feeling of responsibility etc.

I don`t think the dogs involved in this case could be carried around in Paris Hilton`s handbag.
And as regards to a "family pet" whats wrong with rabbits,gerbils and hamsters etc to learn their feeling of responsibility

You missunderstand i was illuminating Paris Hiltons dog as an example of our breeding of dogs.
These toy dogs have all the attributes you see due to us.

Nothing what's wrong with a dog though ?

They stimulate you more than say a hamster for example.
You said you would go to a zoo to see animals so it seemed natural to think you wouldn't have pets for your kids.

That is assuming YOU class dogs as pets.Where as I class rabbits,hamsters,goldfish etc as pets.
I would put dogs[non working] in the same bracket as deer,donkeys.giraffes.antelopes,tigers,elephants,lions etc,etc,etcthe list is endless.All can be found at the ZOO.

A dog keeps getting out near me. It's some sort if bull terrier thing and it seems like a nice enough friendly dog jumping up and down at folk and being generally giddy. It got out when me and my six year old were out playing and it scared the shut out of him. I took it back to the owners house (young woman in pyjamas, mid afternoon). A week later it gets out again jumping up and down being daft and scaring the young kids. This time it sticks the nut on one lad and hurts his mouth. I take the dog back to the house and the fuckwit who answers is your typical young scumbag with gold chains and subhuman intelligence.

'Its not my fault, mate. It keeps getting out.'
Me- 'well keep it secure in the house or garden. There's kids playing out here.

'Im trying. I put something up against the cat flap but it gets out. (probably a cornflake box or something equally as secure!)

Then he starts effing and blinding in the middle of the street on front of the kids telling me to mind my own biz etc.

It's the owners who are fucking idiots! The dog cant really be blamed because it doesnt know any better. They shouldn't be allowed animals of any kind if they can't control them. Now everybody has been lucky up to now that its been me who's sorted the dog out. It's hurting kids and its not even being nasty. Somebody else might've hurt the dog, or the dog could've turned on the kids if they'd have kicked it away.

A dog license should be brought back and owners checked for suitability.

Unfortunately, this argument has one major failing, and it's in your last few words.
No, not about a dog license. It's about the owner's suitability to be in charge of a dog. Should we not be more worried that the stereotypical owners of these "devil dogs", are able to procreate, thus ensuring we have more generations of these knuckle-scraping, Jeremy Kyle-esque fuckwits, to put up with.

I've no truck with a pit-bull, terrier, etc per-se, more the scum-bag who (more than likely), will be it's owner.
