Given to go.

Ive said for a while now that is a great shot stopper, one of the best around and saves us a fair few points with some of the saves he pulls off. However he is also wank coming off his line and commanding his area, this costs us a few points as we saw against utd.

Hart should be number one because he is not only the better all round keeper but he is also the future and if we let him go we will have a hell of a problem getting another keeper of his ability in 4-5 years time. Hart might not save us as many points with the world class saves that Given does, although he does make a few, but he will cost us less points by being able to command his area and claim crosses.

I actually agree with this, Hart was always my first choice keeper he was dropped unfairly by Hughes in my opinion. Hart is going to be one of the best goalkeepers in Europe in a few years or 'has the ability to be one of the best' When you look around there arent actually that many 'top class' keppers around. Hart is the future of Man City!

Totally agree, no presence in the area and it showed against the rags plus his distribution is miles better than Given

And there's the main reason for having him as No.1 rather than Given. We have a young squad looking for success and I have a feeling because of that Mancini will go for the younger goalkeeper rather than Given

And there is no way Given or Hart will sit on the bench, they are goalkeepers worthy of first team football, everyone knows that keeping either on the bench as a back up would be unwise

Maybe, but I don't think there is a lack of quality in keepers really. Most of them are just unheard of outside their leagues, and I doubt many people that support teams outside of England know who Joe Hart is or of his true talent yet.

I do agree that Hart should be the future of City but with such an important season coming up I'm not sure we should risk having Joe as our number 1 yet.

Given is yet to prove sustained fitness. Even if he was the better keeper it would scupper the whole season if he fell injured and Hart had gone.

They are grown men. They signed their contract of their own free will. Its football. There are no guarantees. They both have three years to run on their contracts.

As last year proved, its better for City to have them both. They should belt up and get on with it.

Because Hart will be one of the best in Europe and probably the world if he plays like we know he can so no matter how much money you have getting hold of one of the worlds best keepers is hard work, look at Casillas, Buffon ( I know he moved to Juventus for a high price but they wouldn't sell him now) and how much do you think it would cost to take Valdes or Reina ?
