OK, this is not a thread slagging off Joe, he is a great goalkeeper but:-

My heart is always in my mouth when the ball rolls slowly towards him on the ground and he picks it up with both hands with his legs wide apart, happened in the first half for example against Sunderland today.

At school, I was always taught to go down on one knee so IF the ball slips through the goalies hands....(We see this so often) his leg/body is there as a back up.....it seems so obvious...not rocket science.

So come on Joe, sort it out.

I understand what your saying but joe hart is the best keeper in the world. Leave him to it.

Surely the glaring weakness is the distribution that always goes to the other team, not something that might lead to a mistake at some point but hasn't done so far?

The target's usually Tevez, Silva, or Aguero. Surely you don't expect them to head a ball?

So why make them the target? Kick it shorter to one of our midfielders. Play it out from the back a bit more. Anything.

Other than that he is a top class keeper.

I agree with you. I talked about the same thing with my mate here in Brazil.

Still, when we need him today, he was there. Fantastic Goalkeeper
