Obviously they're gonna be headliners if they play. Saturday 6pm is just silly.Loaded top half and then minor hits after which only the real fan will know. I count 18 i have no idea about. They have no appeal outside the UK though and most Sat/Sun headliners are world stars.
Sat, 6pm slot maybe.
As for them not being world stars, well maybe they didn't hit the heights in America but they still played venues like Madison Square Garden but when they go to South America they were filling stadiums like the River Plate Stadium in Argentina and they could sell out huge gigs in Japan. So they are known across the globe.
I agree about the songs though. There was a lot of songs in that list your average festival crowd may not know, but that's the same for most headliners isnt it? - I only knew a fraction of the songs Elton John played but im well aware he should be a Headliner.
A festival is different to a bands own concert where to capture audience coming just to see you. A festival is very much a mixed bag and I would think the majority of people at the pyramid state watching the headliner probably only know a handful of songs from the Artists, the hits basically. I doubt most 17 year old lasses at Glastonbury would be interested in hearing some Oasis B-sides in that list of songs that their fans love, but they'll be singing along to Wonderwall. Just like most probably didn't know a fair few of Elton John songs but they enjoyed what they know.
Oasis would absolutely be a worthy headliners and have the songs to do it. Not really a fan myself but nobody can seriously say they shouldn't headline if they play.
