Glastonbury 2023

Again for the people at the back…Oasis would not outsell Glastonbury…anyone who has been knows that you have your ticket before the line up is announced….it would be sold out before you even knew they were playing.

Correct. Glastonbury sells Glastonbury. The acts are a bonus.

It was reported that the BBC had well over 500 employees at the festival. Covering regional TV and local radio. Many staying at expensive local hotels.
I'm not surprised, it's fucking huge. If you think they have to have a camera and sound crew, plus producers, directors, stage hand etc, etc for ever stage plus helicopter crews, roaming cameras and presenters. Would have thought that would be about right.

As much as everyone seems to love the Rick Astley singing Smiths songs, with Blossoms being relegated to being backing musicians for a solo singer, would anyone who bought "Ribbon Round the Bomb", pay to go to see Rick Astley as their lead singer singing those songs from that same album?.

The BBC coverage is exceptional, had a wedding over the weekend so couldn't watch much of it save for Elton last night but went through a lot of it today. That was a special performance from Elton last night although was a little deflated by the guests, he couldn't have really smashed it if he brought out a few bigger names. Incredibly odd Dua Lipa didn't show up to do Cold Heart given it was such a hit a few years ago.

Props to Candi Staton, still going at 86. Hallaljuah anyway is my favourite track.
