Simple minds was due to announce a new tour for 2024 3weeks ago, but the announcement has been delayed due to promoter problems. The minds are deffo not quitting touring.Simple Minds on the pyramid next year please, will probably be their last ever show as well, as they are not touring the latest album. They did rescheduled shows from Covid, so they did gigs the same year the album came out, but they haven't toured since the album came out which is unlike them.
It's giving me impressions they are planning to quit, but at the same time, I hope they do what Elton did and use Glasto to say goodbye.

Elton fucking John is all I've seen and heard about today. Even on the One Show some actress I'd never heard of plugging her latest series had some kind of Elton t shirt on.
Having been to two Glastonbury's in the 80's (before it was gentrified and called "Glasto" by wankers) I'm very glad I went when I did. Fucking Elton John and "Macca" and all the other dinosaurs headlining the past few years would have got pelted off the stage back then. And rightly so.
Cat Steven's is totally exempt from criticism as he isn't in the same wanker league as Elton and "Macca" - the Knights of the Realm twats.

It's such a nothing argument. How many people do they think it takes to live broadcast a huge event with multiple locations? According to the NFL, they have 150-200 staff working on each American football game. I imagine the Premier League would be similar. Glastonbury is a huge town-sized event with 62 stages. To cover it with 500 staff is frankly pretty impressive. They were due here in Perth Oz with OMD when Covid hit. It isn't bad for what it was..... but may as well have booked a tribute band to play..... just seems wrong for an artist and a band to play an entire set of cover songs from just one band....
If it gets "the kids" to check out the back catalogue of The Smiths then so be it.....
But it just wasn't for me .....
