This all day long, its not the headliners it's the bands you discover that you like that you had never heard of before.Mate, I've been in the past when not many were on I wanted to see, but I watched loads of bands (ones you wouldn't usually pay to go and see) and they were great, it's different when you're there cos of the vibe and atmosphere. I had a blast. Did it 3 times. Amazing place.
Show me someone who is able to traverse life and never be hypocritical to some degree or at some points.A crime? No, definitely not. But it can be seen as hypocritical.
£340 to watch Dua Lipa pretend to sing to a backing track. Ouch.Yeah i think the tickets are £340 this year and £50 for parking in a field, so next year over £400, its a total rip off but fools part with their money how they like and the demand is crazy
I've been to some fantastic Glasto' festivals in the early 90s and 2008 onwards so I get what Elbow Beards is saying on the merits of it but the acts are getting lame and predictable, not what you expect for the ticket costs.£340 to watch Dua Lipa pretend to sing to a backing track. Ouch.
Have you been to a gig recently, prices have gone through the roof due to artists getting very little money via Spotify. ACDC tickets were over £381 , Stevie Nicks were also way over £250.Yeah i think the tickets are £340 this year and £50 for parking in a field, so next year over £400, its a total rip off but fools part with their money how they like and the demand is crazy
Its not, the headliner gigs are rammed near the stage but the rest often arnt.I've been to some fantastic Glasto' festivals in the early 90s and 2008 onwards so I get what Elbow Beards is saying on the merits of it but the acts are getting lame and predictable, not what you expect for the ticket costs.
Another gripe for me and it probably doesn't come across on the telly but the numbers are ridiculous, people can barely move, my view is if you expect people to pay £400 don't penn them in like a demo, for that money you expect t a level of comfort and space, it never use to be like that.
I agree with you on this, I went late 90's early 00's it was big then but you could get round everything and the only real crowds were near the main stages, think it was around 100 thousand max then. It's about 200 now isn't it?I've been to some fantastic Glasto' festivals in the early 90s and 2008 onwards so I get what Elbow Beards is saying on the merits of it but the acts are getting lame and predictable, not what you expect for the ticket costs.

I'm not paying that, up to you if you see that as fair value or can stomach itHave you been to a gig recently, prices have gone through the roof due to artists getting very little money via Spotify. ACDC tickets were over £381 , Stevie Nicks were also way over £250.
Each to their own but I think they're absolute garbage, throw away music.Keisha still the voice of an Angel
I think it is around 200k now including staff. It just feels like too many, they are being greedy but someone is giving them a licence for it so not just down to the Eavis family.I agree with you on this, I went late 90's early 00's it was big then but you could get round everything and the only real crowds were near the main stages, think it was around 100 thousand max then. Surprised they can be still arsed pissing about with the cows :)I think it is around 200k now including staff. It just feels like too many, they are being greedy but someone is giving them a licence for it so not just down to the Eavis family.
Disagree entirely in that, while I acknowledge nods to Talking Heads, James Murphy is fantastic songwriter and front man in his own right. But hey, musical taste is subjective.
I won't pay that much for a single gig. I saw ACDC twice in 80s and the tickets were less than a tenner. But I posted those costs for comparison to show you that a big festival can be good value these days.I'm not paying that, up to you if you see that as fair value or can stomach it
A lot (repeat a lot, not all) of vegans do seem to like to take the moral high ground, though. And like to preach to others. And as you said, no one is 100% perfect. Not me, not you, not them.Show me someone who is able to traverse life and never be hypocritical to some degree or at some points.
Nobody lives their life in a 100% uncompromising way.
Ah, but I'd depends if it was sugababes mark 1,2 or 3 ;)All this love for The Sugababes all of a sudden- nobody voted for them when I included them in my Song Cup selections last year !
