Just watched James who was brilliant and now halfway through watching The Streets, Mike Skinner is such a great performer, got the crowd bouncing and him going into the crowd and doing his songs was great to see.
I don't think so. I like loads of different music but I like many others of my generation had t heard of her, I'm not a big fan but Elton John fitted the profile last year and it was entertaining and the numbers of this watching would have told the story. Her set last night was relatively poorly attended and I bet the TV would be way down on last year.SZA is one of the biggest artists in the world. Her album in 2022 was huge and really well reviewed. The fact that you've never heard of her says more about your music knowledge than Glastonbury. I'm not watching it. Maybe she's done a shit job. But purely on profile, she's exactly the sort of artist that would be given that slot.
My other half knows her music far better than me and even she said she'd never heard of her!I don't think so. If that's a reference to a certain medical trial, I can only say that some of us are prepared to lay our lives on the line for the betterment of humanity.Aren’t you forgetting the last time you volunteered for something ; )
I suggested to my missus that they may announce their split and that this was one last performance at the venue they debuted at 22 years ago. What I can’t understand is why are Coldplay on for a 5th time, is there no one else out there that could headline? I didn’t watch Sunday night as I’ve never heard of her tbh and was watching the Spain game.
And of course everyone is on social media. At the very least, everyone should know the song Kill Bill. It was all over social media for months.
Singles? Depeche Mode. ELO.Asked you to name me someone with no uk number one singles or albums to headline and no answer yet
Depeche Mode have never played.Singles? Depeche Mode. ELO.
I know that. Wasn't that his question?Depeche Mode have never played.
I think it was who has headlined before SZA without ever having a number one album or single.I know that. Wasn't that his question?
In the mean time Avril Lavigne rocked the other stage with one of the largest crowds for that stage.SZA’s striking set failed to set Glastonbury alight
But their passion failed to ignite any magic on the Pyramid Stage.
The star drew the smallest audience I've ever seen for a Glastonbury headliner, in more than 20 years of coming to the festival.
It didn't help that, for at least the first half an hour, her microphone was both distorted and muffled - an issue for an artist whose appeal lies in the precision of her lyrics and the beauty of their jazzy vocal runs.
The 33-year-old also committed the festival sin of failing to address the crowd. Her only interaction in the show's first act was to ask if any of her "day one" fans were present.
"You know I need you, right?” she said, perhaps acknowledging that this was not her natural audience.

Aaah...got it now...they have had discussions. So fingers crossed...I think it was who has headlined before SZA without ever having a number one album or single.
Depeche have had number 1 albums, so would fulfill the criteria, even if they are to play (I don't think they ever will).
