Niclas Jensen volley from outside the box - v Leeds 1993[/quote)
Think you mean 2003 in our last season at Maine Road.

It was indeed -I was half way up AA Lower so my line of sight was directly behind him when he hit it first time from Anelkas cross

Mine too.

I was in BB Lower, about ten rows back, I think and I watched the ball all the way into the net.

A fantastic goal, and one that doesn't receive the credit it deserves, IMHO.

Also, Brian Gayle's winner at Home Park, Plymouth in the '88-89 promotion season. The first winning City goal I'd ever seen in the flesh. He scored from a great Hinchcliffe corner.

I'd seen us score two there the previous season, but we'd managed to lose the game 2-3, after being two up at half time. Typical City, and to make it worse, all the goals were in the opposite end to the goal we were stood behind.

Can't believe Benjani at the swamp has not been mentioned. The whole occasion and not winning there for so long and all that.

Fave for me even though we lost was going one up at the swamp in a cup game, Rosler putting us one up after a kinky through ball. The celebration that followed remains the most mental I've experienced. Ended up miles away from my seat, bruised shins, different set of clothes and false optimism.
No big deal any more!

But that was the first in my lifetime. I was nearly 30 at the time!!
It was my second (that I could remember). I was 11 at the time, so I was around in the late sixties but wasn't really conscious of City, even though I lived around 5 minutes walk from Maine Road. Nowhere near the saturation coverage that football gets these days, see?

Stefan Karl's goal at Southampton... Mad celebrations ended up 5 rows in front of where I was sat.. Pretty much kept us up from what I remember... Think 93/94 season... Brilliant day!!

Yeah, I was thinking of this goal as well, not a great goal but a goal of great importance.

What about Tuearts overhead to win the league cup in 76 and David White's brace at home v Liverpool to take us top, early season, under Peter Reid.

Berkovic vs Ipswich in the cup during Keegans era.

Corner to the edge of the box and Eyal just volleyed it in.

It was a Sunday night, but untolds of Blues there - the whole day was nuts!!

Can't remember the opposition but Dennis Tueart free kick where, I think Tommy Caton, flicked the ball up and Tueart volleyed over the wall. Early 80's.

this is one of the first things I thought of, I think it is because it was so unexpected at the time. although after watching that clip again, he is about 20 yards further forward than I remember it, thanks for spoiling my memories : )

The other goal that springs to mind is Kinkladze v Southampton, I was not at the game and was working, I was listening to the radio and heard them describing it, I vowed from that day that I would buy a season ticket the following season if Kinkladze stayed and I would ensure I would never miss a match through work (I had a part time job whilst at Uni), thankfully it all worked out and I haven't missed a home game since. The goal was exactly how I envisaged it from the description on the radio, whenever I see it replayed, I can always remember where I was stood listening to it, thinking how gutted I was to have missed it live.

Kernaghan's lob. Sorry for the video quality - but it kind of matches Kernaghan's quality really!

Deyna, dribbling around a cone like Forest defence in '79,they were either League or European cup holders at the time.
He must have been amazing in his prime.
David Phillips, against Charlton in the 5-1 and the pandemonium that followed.
Colin Bell,he scored one after his comeback and was almost decapitated by some bloke on the Kippax in his celebration.
Channon, against Liverpool,it was a pity he couldn't do it more often.

neil mcnab away at birmingham in the 89 promotion season, flicked the ball with the outside of his foot, quality goal

I was thinking this one too. IIRC then he used the wind to almost blow it into the net.

Gary Megson's debut goal away at Oldham. Blooming freezing in that away end with the wind blowing in off the moor.

Peter Reid bursting through to score away at Villa.

Colin Hendry's goal versus the rags - shame that we threw away the lead.

Neville feeding the Goat

David White against Liverpool no idea the season was at anfield he scored two beauties but his 2nd from an acute angel has always been firmly etched into my memory.
