Goals you still Remember

1978 / 79 v Leeds, Brian Kidd's equaliser with 4 minutes to go - Big Mal's first game back - 7 mins 5 seconds
Checkout Kidd running the length of the pitch (half of which was covered in snow) to celebrate with Corrigan and see how many City took that day too.

Its no wonder Brian Kidd wasn't popular at Leeds United . What a strike that was .Love a bit of retro football .

Trevor Francis scoring a last minute winner against Wolves boxing day 81 in the snow to take us top of the league, had his back to goal, ball played into his feet, contolled it, turned and shot all in one movement, right in the bottom corner, mad celebrations :)

Yes, two days before we had beaten Liverpool at Anfield 3-1 with Francis getting a last minute goal - Corrigan then was hit by a bottle thrown from the Kop and was floored. The media insisted it couldn't have come from the Kop such was their standing for being reknowned for their knowledge and sense of humour.........

So we went top for New Years day 1982 and 17 months later came the Luton Town game in May 83................

Lakey's last minute scrimmage at Blackpool in the cup, about 1990

good shout , 94th minute equaliser , we must of hit about 6 shots before lakey smashed it in , i think about 3 blackpool players ended up in the back of the net with the ball , our celebrations seemed to go on for ages and it was only an fa cup 3rd round game , great day out.

Think Steve Kinsey scored at least 1 in that win at Anfield.

David White against Liverpool no idea the season was at anfield he scored two beauties but his 2nd from an acute angel has always been firmly etched into my memory.

Great game that, although the 2-1 home win (again with a White brace) is for some reason etched in my memory. Not sure why, think it's partly because my age then, that White was my favourite player at that time, and that I loved that kit, but for some reason this has always stuck in my mind as one of my favourite ever City games. To keep it on topic it was, of course, the White "Geoff Hurst" goal that sticks in my mind. Enjoy.

I actually stand corrected having checked it out - it was Harftford, Bond (pen) and Reeves (in the last minute, not Francis, though he played a blinder). Kinsey did play bit not score.

Has to be the biggest / best goal mouth scamble ever!
It was the 4th Round having took 3 games to overcome Huddersfield in the 3rd round

It still has to be Denis Law's goal at Old Trafford on 27th April 1974.

I was there in the scoreboard end and the reaction to that goal was much bigger than any other I have ever seen including Sergio's stunner v QPR last year which I also saw.

The crowd invaded the pitch, I saw policemen being overwhelmed and just swept aside by riotous mobs. Matt Busby begging over the tannoy for fans to clear the pitch and being ignored, huge numbers of police eventually gaining control and then the match being abandoned.

Now that was a goal to remember.

Trevor Francis against Wolves. Put top of the league. Stunning strike
