God

I think for an atheist to say that religion is impossible is completely ignorant. Some of the greatest minds of all time have been creationists (Newton, Keplar, Boyle, Einstein, just to name a few).

Back then you werent aloud to not believe in god. How many of todays greatist minds believe in god? probley less than 1%.

I hate to sound like a jerk but you havent done to much reading have you?

although belief in God was alot more popular, Einstein came up against alot of backlash for his beliefs, hence his comments after his telescope incident with Hubble and theory of the expanding universe.

however, as previously stated im not here to argue, so im not going to.

-- Tue Aug 10, 2010 3:48 pm --

also acidkilla, the case for a creator is stronger today than ever before.

if you honestly think less than 1% believe in a creator your very mistaken.

Can you actually name a few "greatest minds" that do not believe in god? (Stephen Hawkings does not count)
I work/study with brilliant minds everyday. Most of them do believe in god, and are from various religion groups.

well on that note how did god start from Nothing??? the universe was just a build up of rocks flying through space, space which is nothing, nothing is technically space, therefore space already exists from nothing.

Science has proven to work on a lot of things science cures dieseaes and illness, for example S.T.I's if you contract an S.T.I pray to god to cure your infection I can bet you'll be waiting along time, Science comes along boom a few antibiatoics its gone.

All I'm saying is that Science on a number amount of times has proven that exists and that its a huge success there is still yet any evidence that god's exsistance is true let alone that he created the universe.

Science needs the solid existence of SOMETHING in order conduct an experiment. All other actions are built upon theories which can be dis-proven many times.

One can say God is a theory. How do you disprove the theory when there is nothing solid to prove or disprove?

Many scientist swear blind on/ by their theories and build up masses of followers. All this built on THEORY!! I asked, once on this board, what is the difference then between science and religion when looked at from this point of view?

The answer, that science can work to test the theories. One cannot work towards the science of String Theory because science does not have the means to test it, just yet.

So, if that's the case, when will they have the means to test the 'theory'of God...??

Nobody is dumb enough to 'define' God. He is not an object. She is not a substance.
We are more than the sum of our parts.

why not? if it/he/she exists than it can be defined

There is still large amounts of creationist scientists. Denial of this just proves you would only read what suits you.
