Well done on the handicap, I started the season on 15.4 and currently 20.4! My mate tried to give me a swing tip and it’s completely ruined my game but I’m getting back to my old golf now so expect to get to about 17/18 by next year. I’ve nearly always been a “bogey” golfer but I just love it. Played Pwhelli, great course. Going to try and book a couple of links courses for Winter, Ashton where I’m a member is pretty soggy for this time of year, only 9 holes open but rammed yesterday. Keep enjoying the game, a walk around with friends, the craic and company is what it’s all about.

Started at 13.9 finished at 13.6 was probably playing better than that early mid season and playing worse than that now but haven't put in many cards. Had some great rounds just bought a new driver which doesn't seem to be doing the business.

I’m at Romiley and it’s saturated in parts . All holes fully open but about 6 holes the bunkers are being re-lined & drained so GUR. Off fairway mats now too, winter wheels , lift & place in rough

Started the season with my handicap being calculated by Golfshake and got it down to 27 or thereabouts but recently signed up to the My England Golf app so starting again and the wrong side of 30 but edging down as I get enough rounds in to count. Having a knee replacement in a couple of weeks which will curtail me for a while after which I might need to go back to basics.

I blame my currently dodgy knee for my current high handicap.

Started at 3.6 ended at 5.5, so a pretty shit year. Been on the slide since the lockdowns. A big problem has been loss of distance, particularly off the tee. I'm 60 now and I'm certain it's physical decline. I've decided to go down the route of speed training, and doing some weights. Made some superspeed sticks, didn't want to pay £200 for the real thing so I made some from old driver shafts, nuts and epoxy. Training schedules are on YouTube. Driver swing speed is currently 90mph and my target is to get near 100 if I can.

Have you tried a graphite shaft on your driver?

Got an up to date driver that was fitted. Graphite 50g shaft. The days of steel shafts in drivers has long gone. Tried my old Tony Pena persimmon with stiff steel shaft that I gamed in the 80s a few years ago, it was like using a poker.
