My brother just got a new driver, admittedly paid for by competition winnings, it was £530. Absolutely ridiculous, keeps Rory and his mates happy with multi million contracts.

You could play Carne, Enniscrone, Rosses Point have a few jars and still have change from what you’ll likely pay to play BB. All three are majestic courses.
I will check those courses out nearer the time but like I said earlier, it will be for a big birthday ( 60th) and a long time bucket list course. Probably be £400 in 2 years time though

Not really what you expect to see when you go watch the golf...

Crazy stuff at the masters

but it's all built as show at Augusta, trees are moved, flower beds are planted, pine needles everywhere,
it really is nothing like what we see for the 4 days

Its been raining all day. Why oh why am I off to play in a comp at 2 oclock. Everything is telling me not to go but here i am packing the car plus 4 towels...

Played last night and the course was saturated . It’s rained all day , so I’m dreading what the course will be like for tomorrow’s competition ( Saturday) . And it’s a board job , Bogey !!!

Detest bogey competitions, nothing worse than getting a birdie on a shot hole.

That’s a problem I don’t usually have .
Just had a great weekend golfing in North Wales. We played Conwy , Prestatyn & Maesdu. The weather was amazing and all 3 courses we really enjoyed and in great condition ( fairways get a bit burnt and bare ) but not much can do about that. Played the Conwy & Maesdu previously so it was nice to play a new course In Prestatyn. Even though conditions were perfect the rough was brutal and slowed us down a bit looking for balls . We had the trophy day here and I came 2nd with 32pts with 2 blobs . Great weekend

After around 4 years of trying since I took golf up at 55 I’ve finally broken the 100, doing my best to blow it by 3 putting after landing my tee shot on the green at the par 3 18. Finished on 99.
Congratulations.

Used to play golf up to the age of 30 then when my eldest daughter was born, couldn’t justify the time it takes, never played since!

I once scored 89 at Altrincham Golf Course, which was my finest moment - a mere 17 over par!

How's everyone's golf going? Had a very good April and a couple of decent weeks in May where I got my handicap down to what I consider good. However the recent weather conditions have made the course really difficult, rock hard fairways and greens and thick fescue rough everywhere. Yesterday a third of the field went no return in the medal. It's a war of attrition.
