Goodbye Mario? (merged)

So long then Mario. You're just another bloke I used to watch on a football pitch from afar every other week. I don't feel any connection to you or any other City player, and haven't done since we left Maine Road. Yes, you were a legend, but for all of the wrong reasons. It's not like you were Dennis Tueart...

Harassed beyond belief, who will be the next prodigy to be chased out of town by the media goon squad ?

They'll never learn. Next character like him to emerge will get the same treatment. They'd rather us follow a team of Wayne Rooneys. Fuck that for a laugh.

Glad to see the back of him to be honest. If you think he got 'chased out of town' then you are sadly wrong.

I knew we had to let him go when we won the league and instead of staying behind to go on the open top bus tour, he went back to Italy the same day. What a great character, what a lovely human-being. I think not.

I don't really care if he becomes the best striker on the planet (which he won't), you cannot win things consistently if you have people in the squad who don't give a shit about the club, its fans, their manager, their team-mates. the guy is a basic bad apple.

For the occasional good moments, I say, well done Mario, for the rest of it, I say good riddance.

Finally it happened
No good, nothing but scandals.

I will be honest, I'm pretty gutted.

Me too. He was fun and he's going to be fucking brilliant. And we'll all be watching him do it for someone else because he was never going to get a fair crack either at this team or in this league. True shame.

Behave. He was given so many chances he just wasn't arsed and din't put the work in.

Funny how he makes it into the Top 10 of goals per minute in the all time Premier League stats then.

Only a complete idiot could be the fan of this disrespectful clown

Well as the Forum seems to be split about 50/50 I can see there will be a lot of 'idiots' calling you a disrespectful clown!!

And I would be one of them except that I have always said and will continue to do so, every single one of us is entitled to our own opinion and everyone's opinion is just as valid as the last person!! :-)

Reading some of the contributions on this thread, clearly the lad was Marmite, loved and hated in equal measure.

Personally I am gutted. He will be missed by me. And i do think he will have fulfilled his undoubted potential when he matured.
