Goodbye Martin.

If he was playing on his preferred position on the left we wouldn't be debating this because he would be scoring/setting up goals for fun - he is the best crosser of the ball/corner taker at the club. When Bridge returns he might get more starts as it would be suicide to play petrov and the snail (garrido) on the left.
I love petrov and would be really pissed off if he goes in the summer - cos he will head to spurs and be a superstar for them!

Well, I personally think he's done a good job for us since he signed, and it's not as though he cost us too much dosh. He's caused plenty of full backs major problems in his time here!

Can't see his contract being renewed in the summer though so I guess he'll be offski.

i rate petrov and would give him another 12 mth contract, great player scores goals always good on the ball.all players cant defensive midfielders!!!plus this johnson kid could do a lot worse than spend a year or so learning his craft of martin petrov.

A favourite of mine but no I can't see him staying once AJ breaks through

Here's me thinking Adebayor was nailed on to be the boo-boy after Robinho.

At least Petrov fits the stereotype for the fans that like to watch cloggers

Moody
Doesn't track back
Doesn't tackle
bad inlufence in the dressing room
Can't play away from COMS
Has 1 good game in 10

Anymore haters?

Spot on mate.

Ppl on here are absoloute jokers at times.

Cant stand him, never liked Petrov, offers very little, slows down attacking set-ups, one footed, trouble causing mard, fails to go past players 90 per cent of the time, hopefully he wont be in the team much with Johnno arriving, good riddance when he goes

You obviously missed the Wolves game where he played one of the passes of the season off his right foot.

What else have you missed? Do you watch games with your eyes open?

If your debating the fact hes very 1 footed on the basis of one good ball with his weaker foot then id suggest its you who dosnt open your eyes whilst watching.

You've described him down to a tee, so if he is all them things, why would you want him?

I started my post by saying I liked and respected the guy....then wrote mainly negative stuff.
So just to balance it out.......Petrov's greatest attribute is his crossing. He has arguably the best delivery of anyone in the Prem because he is such an intelligent wide-man. He varies them so much - sometimes to a target, other times to a danger area; sometimes floated, other times drilled low.
I've seen a bit of AJ and he looks a real talent but there will always be room in a squad for a guy who can produce the kind of threat that Petrov does.

I agree, his delivery is awesome as is everything he does on his left foot, i just think you need to offer a bit more to be a top 4 player. It dosnt mean your a hater if you discuss someones bad points.

We've established that he doesn't watch. Just look at the Johnson remark? He thinks he's never played in the premiership. The irony of stating that people don't watch the game with their eyes open and he's just been caught hook, line and sinker!
