Halfpenny says stop expressing your opinions in the third person. It gives the (most likely true) impression that you're on here to cause trouble and doesn't harm the claims from some sections that you and many Arsenal fans are arrogant. Now, how was it 'pure wrong arrogance' and why is it wrong? The way I see it, a sizeable proportion of our team would walk into the starting 11 at Arsenal (or, most likely, nearly any PL side).

Fabianski says a lot of it is down to opinions but to suggest only two of our players are good enough is laughable. We have finished above you for years for a good reason and that is because the squad as a whole is better and adding one or two signings like Silva and Yaya Toure dosnt suddenly change the whole dynamics of a squad. It is pure arrogance to start thinking you are better than a team you have not finished above and who just beat you, with or without ten men you still lost so have nothing to claim how you are better.

Hart > any keeper you have. Possibly.
Boateng > Sagna. Wrong. Why? Sagna has been an excelant right back and proved he is worthy for a couple of years now.
Kompany > Vermaelen. Debatable
Kolo > Any other defender you have. Very wrong, when we sold him he wasnt good enough for us and he has not got better, I love Kolo he was a good Arsenal man and one of the best in 2004, but that was a long time ago, we have three better defenders now
Kolarov > Clichy. Clichy on form is better. Is he on form now? no, will he get back on form? We wait and see
De Jong > Song. Song of last season was better, song of this season and I agree with you
Yaya > Denilson. Yes, but Denilson isnt a usual starter
Fabregas > Barry. Agree altho they are not the same position
Nasri > Milner. Agree
Silva > Arshavin. Disagree, Arshavin has contributed more as a team player, assist and goals, and he is meant to be lazy and selfish
Tevez > RVP. If RVP could stay fit as long as Tevez then debatable but for now I have to agree with you. Tevez over Chamakh? well we will wait and see how that pans out but hes been a great signing so far
"We finished above you for years for a good reason"
Yeah. We were shit. And quite clearly, adding a large number of signings has changed the dynamic of our squad. We were mid table cannon fodder for the big sides and look at us now; your lot are wanking over beating us with one more man on the pitch. It's not arrogance to have the confidence in what is on paper, one of the (if not the) best squads in the league. We'll wait and see how it pans out over the season I suppose, though if we do finish above you I doubt you'll be here to read it.

Also, as long as you do this third person thing I cannot take you seriously.

Fabianski says due to me saying for years and years you missed what I meant which is my fault I apologise but when I was talking about better squads I was comparing only the last year or so, I dont think Silva and Yaya Toure are going push you on enough for you to start thinking you are the ones to take on Chelsea. Take on the fourth place challenge wether it be us, Tottenham, United or whoever else and then thinking about challening a table topping side.

Look foward to returning to this thread at the end of the season although im not sure this 'Fabianski' poster will.

Come the end of the season these cockneys won't be laughing, they are too inconsistent to finish top 3. Us, rags and chelsea will be fighting it out at the top

That song the Arse fans sang for Nasri to the tune of 'Give It Up' by KC & The Sunshine Band was fucking pathetic.

For a start, which self respecting group of mostly male supporters would sing a song with the same melody as KC & The fucking Sunshine Band at a football match? And even more annoyingly, since when has his name been Samir Nas-er-eee?

I was embarassed for you. Cockney wankers.

plus it's about this season, and what I'm saying is I'd only have Nasri and Fabregas out of your team into our starting XI when we have all players fit, it's pretty close in some cases, this isn't like you are Henry, Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg Arsenal, I watched a not very good arsenal team(that's just my opinion, I've seen you at your unbeatable peak) and I just don't rate you, I don't think you'd have got a result without Nasri and Fabregas, and I think that will be a common theme this season.

I think you need a new keeper(Fabianski did well but he's not top quality), a new top class centre back, an extra midfielder, winger and striker.

you're good, don't get me wrong, but a mere shadow of what you were.

-- Tue Oct 26, 2010 12:41 am --

we beat chelsea...

we won't win the league, but I think we'll be single figures in points behind them 2bh, and I think we'll be right up there next season.

I don't know if I watched a different game to those in the press and some Arsenal fans, but I didn't see a City team brushed aside. I saw a City team eventually overcome due to pushing for an equaliser, a team that not only had played with 10 men for 85 minutes but that spent a good proportion of the second half with Adebayor, Balotelli and Silva playing a formation of 4-2-3. We created plenty of chances and should have scored but for good goalkeeping. Arsenal's defence is shocking and Vermaelen will not solve that on his own, in midfield there are too many same same players, and that will see Arsenal battered and bruised and lose points where title contenders can win. We've known it for years and the Arsenal fans know it too, there are positions you would strengthen and weaknesses in your side. For City we have strengthened to the extent that unless we become a team that copies Real Madrid's galactico transfer policy, we have a squad that needs little strengthening. Another striker is mentioned but that's on top of the diversity of Tevez Ade and Balotelli. We have strong players, fast players, technical players and strength in depth and we also have a lot of good young players too. We haven't finished in the top 4 of the PL before, but we almost did last season but for 3points, and so we have the experience to do it this year. That's not a doubt, we also have the hunger and quality to go for the title, I don't believe we will win it, I think we wont have a decent title fight until the 2012/13 season when we are used to competing in league and champs league together. But we do have a much better squad and the mentality has been changing to get the players aiming for the top, so we don't need season after season of slow progression. We will finish above Arsenal this season I am very confident of that, you have the mentality and experience in bottling it and winning nothing over the last few years so you can't call us up on our lack of winning know-how.
