This guy has a truly amazing technique, no wonder he's been touted as the "new Zidane" for years. He's got that low centre of gravity when dribbling that ZZ had, looks like he's always going to stumble.
Defenders can't get the ball of him without fouling him. But then judging by his free-kicks he's just gonna score anyway!
Just think for a moment if we had De Jong/Barry protecting the back four then this player plus potentially a box to box engine like Gerrard linking it all up. I don't really want to start thinking too much about it...

Anyone know why he left Milan for Bordeaux? Seems a backward step to me - like he wasn't good enough.

I think we shouldn't get our hopes up about this. fbloke wum'd this in the 'its quiet' thread, and with ajay or tolmie it doesn't seem like this is one of the three or four we're lining up. Would love it, but I can't see it happening. Hope I'm proven wrong.

He is an incredible player, but I just can't see us getting him.
Gourcuff is an immense player and I would be much more excited about signing him than Gerrard. Great player that Gerrard is his best days are behind him whereas Gourcuff will reach his peak over the next 5 years. We would also be keeping cash away from our rivals.
This guy is destined to become one of the world's very best in the next couple of years and we need to get him whilst we have a chance as he's still in an unfashionable league at an unfashionable club. We should offer 25-30 million, triple his wages and then enjoy watching him terrorise defences with his amazing technique and skills. Whenever Ive seen him play he has always struck me as a complete player, strong, good balance, good in the air, got great vision, delivery and scores goals. Just get him signed before he has a great World Cup and goes to Real!

Great turn of phrase. I've seen us linked with many quality players, but this is the one I would like to see come off the most. Exactly the type of player we need, and there's not many like him around.

Awesome!!! Great balance, and uses the sole of his boot just like Zidane. He could be very special in years to come and just what City need to aspire to the next level.
