Gout

It’s not always lifestyle it could be hereditary, looks like water diet for you in the future got to flush those crystals away.
Yeah, my parents haven't had it so I think its more likely to be lifestyle for me. I've lost 4.5 stone in the last year so just a bit odd to have it now rather than 12 months ago or more.

Thinking about it, I probably haven't drank as much water in the last couple of weeks though, so will take your advice, and get back to drinking as much as possible.

Fuck me its agony though. Didn't sleep last night. Hoping its a bit better tonight.

You learn. To spot the danger signs although it’s a painful fucking lesson, I once had an attack in my knee which lasted a week. Take it easy mate.

Its hereditary with me
me dad,gran all before me

I'm 56 and only just got it under control the last couple of years via allopurinol

I'v always drank way too much and will never stop, but im ok with 200mg allopurinol dailly

from being roughlt 30 to 53-54 i just put up with it and took anti inflammatories when it started ,which was frequently

i was offered allopurinol way back but said id just keep taking the painkillers while they worked

big mistake by me,i now have osteoarthritis because of my neglect

allopurinol is your way out ,take it if your gout persists,IMO

Been on alpurinol for it since I was 25 and now I'm 49...in all those years I've not had one attack of it since thank god but and this is the but I developed kidney stones which is another side step/effect c of the gout and to be honest I never thought you could ever experience more pain than gout but kidney stones are another level of shit...I would take gout pain over kidney stone pain all day everyday

Something to look forward to.....

Suffered few really painful episodes of it but thankfully not for a while. Changed diet and amount I was drinking due to another health issue and hopefully that's helped with the gout. I used to work for NHS and stayed in staff accommodation for short while. Tiny room the bed was against a wall and I woke in agony about 3 in morning thinking I'd kicked the wall and broken toes. Limped to A&E for them to confirm it was gout.
