Government force charity upon us

Are you one of those stupid people who can't say "no" and have to give to or buy anything that is offered? If not (and I assume you must be bud due to your post), then what is your problem? If you actually knew how much charity money is given on the spur of the moment would you still be complaining, probably so as you come across as a miserable bastard! I collect for charity from time to time and I'm fortunate that most people are either compassionate human beings and give a little or have the spine to say "no thank you" unlike yourself.
Aren't you the guy who pretends to be from America?

Anyway, read the thread to see my full opinion.

Yeah, do so megatroid, it's great.

If someone can afford to give 3% of their wages to charity then they are being paid too much. A lot of people in this country are living wage to wage and some are not that well off.
Personally I think the government are doing this because their cuts to services will mean that more services will become charities i.e. an indirect tax.

Charitable donations are optional not mandatory. Thus those that find themselves in a position to donate do so. I do and so does the wife. The amount we give is relative to our income. Why are you under the impression that a person earns too much if they donate a set amount to charities ? Maybe they're making sacrifices elsewhere to enable this benevolence.

Don't like having a tin shaken at me, but I can't see the problem in taking a couple of more seconds in a shop or at a cash machine to decide if I want to give a few pence to charity. The important word here being decide. There's fuck all being forced on me is there?
You'll have a small selection to pick from.

Still a choice though.

Your argument chages all the time as you don't actually have one.

I wonder if you can get a form of adblock for your cashcards ?

My argument is the whole bleeding thing. It's a poor idea when you look into it and think about it.

Should imagine it will be your right index finger when you press no.

This is called a choice but I guess choice is not an option in your world.

Something I would encourage you to do.

And by thinking, I don't mean making things up, such as having to tell a checkout girl of your decision or that the government will get a percentage of any donation. That is called lying see.

But who decides what choices you have ? It's wide open to corruption. Charity is big business and there's usually a few people at the top creaming off a good wedge for themselves.
How soon before the banks hold auctions for the privilege of being 'a choice' ?
Nothing so crass as asking for payment but it wouldn't surprise me one bit to find that the banks will only recommend charities that actually bank with them.

You scratch my back and all that.
