Government force charity upon us

A feeble attempt at papering over the cracks of capitalism.
Typical divide and rule Tory tactics. Switch the onus onto the man in the street, along with the worst effects of the cuts, while the Tory members and donors in the financial and banking sector get off Scot free with causing all this shit in the first place.

Pmsl

We haven't half got some moaning lefty bastards on this forum.

To argue against people having the option to give a tiny amount to charity is a new low.

charities do annoy me. what with their highly paid bosses and heart-wrenching television adverts

i blame live aid - the birth of making people feel guilty.

Or perhaps you're in the minority.

Well those against seem to be labour supporters so it would appear not.

Also if you count up in the thread, there are more in favour kidlet. Plus I would rather be on the side pidge, skasion and nasark any day of the week. They tend to be decent posters. As for you .... Well you're anti anything since those nasty people said tax payers should fund higher education. Shame.

No problem with this on the face of it.

However, just like "the Big Society" I'm almost certain that this is a 'policy' motivated almost exclusively by political dogma and belief, rather than a genuine charitable desire.

George Bush and Caring Conservatism. Even the Yanks and their rabid political culture saw through that one.

The Conservative Party cannot believe their luck at having gained power at such a time. A nice bit of exaggeration over the threat to the country from the worldwide recession and they are able to instigate every policy that they have been dreaming of for the past 40 years. This and 'The Big Society' are parts of the fringe of that and, imo, motivated solely by a desire to reduce all state involvement (even those that are noble and needed - hence people supporting charities that boost them) as much as possible.

It stinks imo.
