Same thing has been happening to me this afternoon
 
My friend is playing it. He keeps inviting me but I can't join because it won't let me complete the tutorial.

Anyone got on yet? I've had to make my character 3 bloody times cos it kept getting deleted when I couldn't get on.
 
yeah you need to add someone in the crew and then go join friends crew.

Can anyone help. I'm trying to do the mission meltdown. I have to go to a shop marked on the map and get a tuxedo. I go to the suits but tuxedo does not appear anywhere. I have over $1m so it isn't that, I've killed myself and gone to my house but no tuxedo is available for me. What do I do?
 
lol i dont know mate, i think ive done that one........................

so u go to the shop, look around the shop? you might have missed where you get the tuxedo from. please dont post any spoilers btw, (though if its near the start i think ive done it, im up to the stun gun bit)

When you go into the shop don't go left where the suits are go to the right there's a rail on the right wall can't remember the exact option that comes up but it's the furthest to the right option where you buy the tuxedo from.

Still can't do it. It's definatly a glitch. I pull up outside the ponsonby shop , there is a yellow halo outside it which indicates start mission. It won't start the actual mission. I've tried going into the shop where the tux is on the wall and it doesn't come up as an option to even buy it. I think the glitch is the mission not loading, therefor not activating the tuxedo to be selected by Micheal.
 
I joined the crew - Jammy1988 will have to do some missions when people can actually get online,
 
im looking foward to that moment........hopefully rockstar are hard at work :)


should be good if we can get our crew started :)
 
Actually got online on ps3. Had to redo my character and everything but i was online! done the first race and first missions after went to the first last man standing before it timed out. Might finally be able to get some decent time on it tomorrow. Wish it wouldn't send you back to single player everytime it times out etc. Takes so fucking long to load and then attempt to load back online a "retry" options is very much needed.

Sounds like a glitch mate. You not got an earlier save you can revert to? Maybe try switching characters and back? or sleeping and trying again, or going inside the shop with another character. I'm just clutching at straws here tbh.
 
I reconnected online first try after being timed out, went to start a mission, clicked join and it's been stuck there with a loading circle on the screen for the last 5-10 minutes now, There's no indication as to whether it's still actually trying to get me into a game or if it's just stuck there. the circle is moving and the radio is playing so the game hasn't froze but the only way out for me is to psn button it and quit the entire game. Another stupid design from Rockstar. A standard refresh and quit out to the main world button would help instead of being forced to exit the entire game and wait through that ridiculous loading time again just to get back to square one.

That's about all the frustration i can handle for tonight. Giving up and will try again tomorrow but the inevitable problems we get from the additional weekend players server traffic.
 
After a couple of glitches I got online yesterday. All I can say is stick with it.

Won a deathmatch, had my car nicked, watched a french bloke try and lose a police helicopter, robbed a store...

It's great fun and when I can connect to the social club I'll join you lit!
