Grealish house raid

All the terry ten men saying theyd leather the burglars… 2 cautionary tales.

Remember the guy in bramhall maybe 15 years who came home with his mrs n little son to find burglars?
He got into a scuffle with one and disarmed the knife he had and stabbed said burglar to death. His mrs and son saw it all.
He spent 48 hours in a police cell followed by months waiting to see if hed be charged. He wasnt.
The burden of taking someones life weighed heavy, cost him his business, his marriage, had threats off the burglars family for years after. I know his mrs. She said he always said hed wished he had just stepped outside and called the police.

My mate early last year was woken by a noise , opened his bedroom door to be met by 3 ballied up blokes on his landing! He made that much of a racket and kinda chased them off they went. They got away with one car, they were coming up the stairs to look for tge other set of keys for the other car.
He felt brave as fuck that hed chased them off but it was only later he noticed a knife gone out of a knife rack. Its what they do apparently, take a knife from the house once inside rather than go equipped. It proper shook him up, the what mightve been. His kids n mes in other rooms whilst the burglar had a knife and hes being the big man chasing them off.
He also said its only a fuckin car , insured, abd next time he would hand them the keys just to get rid

Reported on the TV that his family heard the thieves and pressed the panic alarm, which would I'm sure have been able to alert the police, and an audible alarm (If there was one) would have had the scum scarpering.
Not sure if I would prefer an audible alarm to chase them off but less chance of them getting caught, or a silent alarm to the police meaning more chance of them still being there when the police arrive, but also greater risk to the family, and or possibly that they could get away with more stuff.....

This could be another hundred pages thread ,
Theft is theft until we pass new laws when it’s dealt with properly in the courts with meaningful sentences this will go on and on
Also make prison harder .
There’s no deterrent at all.
We graft , we make sacrifices, for some low life scum who bring nothing to society but pain and misery to take it away.
6ft square cell bread and water they deserve no more.

That might be okay for a shortarselike me, but if it was someone 6ft 6 might be a bit restrictive (oh and can I request Tescos lemon and lime still water)

Maximum sentence for armed robbery is life in prison.

Whilst that is rare, serious armed robbers often end up doing more jail time than murderers.

Not sure your lack of deterrent argument has much evidence to support it.

Make it harder inside then.
Proper jail as it should be.
There’s my deterrent.
They deserve absolutely nothing.

If you want to make jail time harder, purely as punishment, that’s a valid opinion.

But you’ll struggle to find much evidence anywhere around the world where tougher jail conditions appear to act as any sort of deterrent.

I believe our law and order in this country is truly broken. Police don't bother catching criminals unless the value of the crime is big (Makes commiting crimes more easier like shoplifting). Also the courts give pathetic sentences like we see on the news.

It's awful our players have been targeted and robbed by these criminals. And this is why we need good proper sentencing when they get caught with the evidence to show they clearly robbed the person's house.

Also our players, post everything on social media which doesn't help as criminals love any information they can get on these players houses and wealth. Also the money they get paid. They should also be able to afford the best security one can offer.

If I was a City player. I would probably live in Saddleworth and not Alderley Edge. Because its not far to travel. A quieter location. Lovely houses and beautiful scenery. Also would probably live in a £350k house that is not too isolated but quiet enough to give you peace. Never understood why they need to live in £5 million mansions that actually make them more vulnerable to robberies and other dangerous acts of crime.

I hope they catch these criminals and give them 30 years behind bars. But we know they will be out in 2 years to do the same thing again.
We had a break in at work in the summer, they took a £5k pressure washer, took 2 days for the police to come out. There was 3 of them in the car but only 1 come in to talk to us, he didn’t want to see where it happened and said unless we have clear CCTV showing faces they couldn’t do anything.
