Interesting reading on Wiki.

Two women that today would be classed as 'bleeding heart Liberals', and a singer putting Rochdale on the map a la Robbie Williams/Stoke-on-Trent.

I notice they mention The Smiths on her Wiki page. Is she considered 'great' up there a bit like they are too? You know, any further south than Birmingham and she doesn't really cut it?

Anyway that's immaterial - she's mega famous up there?

Delaney ain't mega-famous, but her dramas are well renowned. Morrissey lifted half his lyrics for the first Smiths album from A Taste of Honey.
