Unfortunately people will always vote for Clapton, Hendrix, Bolan (lol) even Hank Marvin. But they are still great in their own right.....

Unreal, the first name that came to mind when I read this thread.
I also had the pleasure of seeing Stevie Ray Vaughan whilst leaning up against the stage at massey hall, and a 15 year old Derrick Trucks at the Gasworks. Lets throw out Pat Metheney while we're at it. There's way too many different types of players out there to pick a fav.. I personally allways liked George Thorogoods style.
