Greatest winger to play for City

one of my first blue shirted hero was david wagstaff who was a winger barnes tueart hutchington beagrie were all great wingers but for me mike summerbee was the best, a great crosser of the ball, a great dribbler, but unbelievably aggressive, he was for a time very very effectively used as a deep lying centre forward.

summerbee senior gets my vote

Mine too though Waggy was my first City hero and I was alway him playing in the park at nights. No mention of Frank Carrodus then?

Not the greatest, but I loved the 'Petrov Principle'.

There's a scramble or a loose ball? Then I shall twat it at the goal forthwith chaps.

Missing a bit of that now.

Without Meredith City may never have become a successful club at all, so for major impact I guess he has to be number 1. My personal favourite was Peter Barnes - it was a pity he came along at a time when English football seemed not to want to use wingers.

Also, loved Tommy Hutchison for his impact.

Worth noting that although we all think of Mike Summerbee as a great winger (which he was), he was centre-forward for most of the 1967-68 title winning season.

Agree about Meredith. However I think Health & Safety would have something to say about that toothpick!

Just in the middle of Cult Heroes at moment, a good read. However have a word with your proof readers, some typos and grammatical errors in there!

I'd love to, but it's not one of my books!

Dennis Tueart in my era, just thought he had everything, power, pace, good header of the ball, prolific goal scorer, and exciting to watch.

David Clayton is a prolific author about City it seems, does he come on here does anyone know? He's the "club journo" apparently and edits Man City Magazine. Worth buying any of these?

DOH! Let's get David Clayton on here so I can tell him....

Scott Sinclair he is the greatest wigan player to play for City.

Peter Barnes, cried when him and Gary Owen went. Whitey was good as was SWP first time around.

Eric Brook, again and again and again

Gary James what are your views on Brook
