Grenfell Tower block disaster

Saint Teresa visited and spoke to the Fire Commissioner and the emergency services.
Uncle Jeremy visited and spoke to victims and the "ordinary people".
Bringing politics into this isn't my point but if it was me I'd want to know that the people in power saw first hand what happened and the consequences on the victims.
We all know a football tragedy when the PM relied on "The Truth" as told to her by the people responsible for negligence instead of talking to eye witnesses.
The smell of cover up cannot overcome the smell of smoke here.
No political axe to grind, just do not want The Establishment to hide truth.

There will be plenty of Iphone/smartphone video footage for the Public Inquiry to peruse. Lets hope they use them without editing.

Regarding that lady on the BBC this morning I watched her and she was ranting about this being vengeance for recent attacks .....her words not mine

40ish flats in our block. 2 bed flat next door rented by a couple but now sublet to 6 people (not a family if you want to be pedantic. Some 4 bedroom flats in that tower... 2x6=12 if I want to be pedantic). Council records would indicate police or whoever should be looking for two people if it happened here.

Perhaps, if you really wanted to you could accuse @cleavers of being a bit sensationalist by suggesting the possibility that from a single flat there could be 12 more people dead instead of 1.

Have a nice brew or a spliff or something mate.

I used to work in social housing in Manchester and know, for a fact, that lots of 3 bed family houses are now used for 'hot bedding' with 20 people sleeping during the day and then another 20 overnight.

Sly are camped out on a neighbouring balcony so they have a birds eye view, stay classy!

Five Live were camped out there all day yesterday. It got to a point where i half expected them to start interviewing each other. It's a bit much when there are still dozens of bodies in there and these broadcasters are using the building as a backdrop to their rolling news output.

To be fair they have stood outide parliament and downing street in the last week, standing outside at 10.30pm doing the paper review every night, madness

They're talking about requisitioning some of the empty properties in Kensington to re-house some of the people who've lost their homes.

Maybe they should also be asking why foreign investors are allowed to buy up property in this country and then leave it empty whilst it appreciates in value. It's no wonder there's a housing shortage.
