It comes back to a conversation I was having with Rascal the other day. The right wing define freedom as the right to exploit everything and everybody. Climate protesters are saying we've got to stop the over exploitation of the planet, but that's clearly socialism in disguise! It's an assault on American freedom and must be resisted!

And so we get the same deflection tactics, the same tired right wing excuses....

We'll give up guns when the criminals do.
We'll give up nuclear weapons when the Russians do.
We'll do something about global warming when India and China do.

And off course you get alternative facts, lies and a purge of any mention of climate change in government documents, and Trump gets corporate flunkies to run environmental agencies and he cuts their budget and you get Fox News bleating on and on that there's nothing to worry about.

And so it goes on.

It's sinister how she has managed to get such a large voice, however the cause I believe is good and it has legs it's just very very cynical how a wealthy mother pushed an autistic child to be the leader of the worlds trees air and don't shit in the ocean movement.

I’ve been hearing this too. None of them give a shit about the kids missing school or any of that moral high ground bollocks. They just instinctively don’t like what these young people are doing because it’s “lefty” or “do-gooder”: the politics of caring about other people, rather than being selfish. It makes them sub-consciously uncomfortable because it shines a light in their own morals.

It’s hard to measure the level of influence she’s had on days like today but what is clear is that she has been a main influence.

What an amazing human being and great to see world wide protest.

I really think her name will go down in history with the likes of Emmeline Pankhurst, Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr.

She is the leading name of the next great humanitarian fight!
