Guardiola: “If the club wants me, I want to stay here”

So here is a question. When Guardiola leaves football management, as he will inevitably, and quite young I imagine, who is going to carry the "total football" torch? It certainly won't be copycats like ten Hag or Arteta who haven't had enough exposure to the man's thinking, knowledge and experience, imho.

It's something I have been thinking about more than Guardiola just leaving City. He has the knowledge and experience of generations passed down to him through Michels to Cruyff (and even before from "our" Reynolds to Michels) and then to him. What a waste it would be to City if that knowledge and experience isn't passed on to the next generation. And not just City, but the PL and football in general.

Is there anybody in his team that can take that on board?

Is there any chance that he can stay long enough at the club to pass that knowledge down to the next generation of coaches?

Or is it more likely that he goes back to Barcelona eventually in a board position to further develop the team there? Xavi, anyone?

Any thoughts?
Well the length of time Pep has been his number 2s have fucked off, so he ain’t gonna train anyone up before his contract expires. It would take years to learn from the great man.

How long does it take to train a guy to get out the cheque book ?

it wont be one of his assistants ,it will be one of his ex players, wouldn't surprise me if someone like gundogan who has gone to barcelona(maybe to get a closer look at la masia) he is a very bright man,who i think in the long term will make a great coach.

I think you go back a lot further than that. When he came it was “he won’t stay long”; BEFORE he came it was “he’ll never come to city”. As for Collymore he is just a big mouth with a small brain.
Also all the.media .. "peps tika taka /playing out from the back won't work in the Premier league" now every team in English football including the.national side try to emulate him , "mourinho will have the edge over pep due to his premiership experinencr"

I reckon he’s passed enough knowledge to Gundogan, who, from what I can gather, is similarly addicted to football as Guardiola

Having said that, I thought Lampard would make a decent manager :)

Strange that some of the most successful managers have been shite footballers or never played at a decent standard, klopp, wenger and mourinho spring to mind

I've no doubt Mr. Whippy is a calm and collective sort with the intelligence to become a good coach. Is he too quiet and nice though? I have no doubt if he does go that way he will cut his teeth in Germany working his way up via 2 or 3 clubs.

Can't see him back in Manchester unless he gets divorced!

A few more too mate
Sven
Allegri
Rafa Benítez
Shankly
Clough
Sacchi - don’t think he even played a single game as a pro

Currently Pep seems comfortable with his domestic arrangements,he likes Manchester and loves City.

I thinks he’s less interested in the rag/dipper records than he is in fighting the daily onslaught from the media and authorities with bias, lies and racism.

He fighting a battle for the owner, club, colleagues, players, fans and himself.

He’s a law abiding, anti authoritarian fighter for the underdog, a rebel for his causes and beliefs.....and City are his cause and his belief.

The rag/dipper records will fall as a consequence and will be a bonus to him.

Viva la Pepito !!
Yep - which is why I am absolutely convinced he will extend his contract again.

I honestly believe - and I'll keep saying it - that he could do 20 years at City let alone 10.

I'm not ITK at all, it's just a gut feeling.
