Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

I have no idea if he will succeed in building such a team but I love that he is going to try and has the full backing of our owners.

I think that is the difference over the Bayern situation, he never had the time or degree of control that would allow him to build the team.

Personally I'd rather win less trying to play beautiful football than win ugly. Chelsea will win the PL this season but who will remember the football they have played ? No-one is the answer.

Totting up trophy numbers is for Rags and Dippers.

Weve played good attacking football since we first won the PL, its all about trophy's fella no more no less, do you think Chelsea fans give a shit about being liked whilst they are celebrating there 5th PL title?

I get this style thing but fucking hell give it a rest about World domination and being the best team to watch the world has ever seen, Barca and Bayern have had a 30-40 year heritage at the top of European football-we are struggling to reach quarter finals.

We are nowhere near the level of Barca or Bayern, lets win a few PL titles first eh?

Which is why I wish Seluk wasn't talking. I don't think that Pep's the kind of guy who's going to let it slide that he's suddenly doing interviews for Sky again having been silent since Yaya came back in the team.

makes you wonder if that's why he didn't see the field on Wed.

He can't officially join another club until the window opens. It's not severance, it's his contracted wage.

No club worth their salt is going to rush in and pick up the tab on £1m in wages just for the sake of him publicly announcing his next stated destination.

The severance is only more relevant when there is more than a year remaining and the club is forcing them out.

We're not forcing Yaya out, we are allowing his full duration to elapse.

It is the standard FA terms, everyone gets July as severance at the end of the contract if not on the retained list or signed for another club.

It may not be normal contract law but it is how it works in English football.

The time is right as he can now longer be fully relied upon but it is not going to be an easy task in finding Vinny's replacement.

Seluk needs to understand the rules.

Yaya cannot sign for another club tomorrow.

He was able to agree a non-verbal contract from January as a foreign import.

He can't do that with any English club - only foreign clubs and still can't with English clubs until his contract elapses.

Will be a very sad day when he finally leaves the club for us fans, but from Pep's point of view he is here to mould the team and take us forward. Can anyone say with their hand on their heart that Kompany would be a mainstay of our defence for the next 3 years?

I can't see it, just look at the average age of the players such as Sterling, Sane, Jesus, Stones, KDB. This should tell you all we need to know about his future. We are building not solidifying.

I'd say we're not at that level, but we aren't a million miles away. We were by the better side against Barca at home this season, and Bayern have had their ups and downs. With the right signings this summer to fit peps plan there is no reason we can't do a lot better next season in the CL.

This is the thing though, it will be very very easy to find a replacement for today's Vinny, anyone who is fit to play 25 games a season would be a major upgrade on him.

He is taking up a valuable squad place without being able to contribute on the pitch, this will be how i suspect Pep is looking at the situation.

Now the Vinny of 4-5 years ago is another story altogether, he was one of the finest players I have ever seen in a blue shirt and I will shed a tear when he finally leave.

Of course there is always potential on the market, but the sticking point is finding the right replacement, especially for a club legend.
