Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

If Vinnie is fit why isnt he given a run in the team, if he breaks down again given the amount of time he has had this time to get fit then we would all know its the end.
if he stays fit then keep him as he is a class CB and a born leader, those type of players are hard to find.
if he breaks down then let him go, with his injury record we would not get much for him anyway

I think the one thing that none of us know is what is going on in training. He may be fit but perhaps Pep has seen something that means he wont play him in games. It is a mystery but we don't know the full picture.

Moving Vinny on is 100% the right thing to do. Don't forget the more we shift the more we can spend. Vinny has been a tremendous servant for this club, but his time has come to an end.

Part of me believes even if he had stayed fit, Pep wouldn't have played him that much. Like Hart it's a stylistic issue.
not this

Kompany used to be a midfielder didnt he? He is the perfect fit for the Pep style of play, confidence, ability etc

No-one mentioned re-inventing the wheel. I was talking about building a great team.

I hope we do mate, all Im saying is lets walk first before we start to run, we are not in the league of Barca, Madrid or Bayern, they wont stand still either so its futile saying we will dominate world football just because Pep is our manager.

Sad for him. Leaving not because he wasn't good enough but because his body broke down on him.

With Zabaleta, the best defender at the club in my life time.

Never mind all this creating a team the world will recognize as great it might be a start if Pep was able to win a league and an FA cup a la Mancini or the league and two league cups that MP managed.

Mancini took over a team that finished 10th the previous season. Within two two and a half seasons he had put to bed the trophyless drought and then won the league. No small achievement despite the financial backing. Now I am fully aware that Guardiola is a more respected coach than either of his predecessors but all his achievements were elsewhere with two giants of world football.

He might yet do the double in his first season and in my view Wednesday's defeat makes that more not less likely. Let's hope so. But if we end up trophyless this season the pressure will mount. The competition does seem to be getting domestically stronger. And that is why the last 5 years remain a disappointment. With United and Chelsea temporarily in decline, Spurs yet to get going and Arsenal being well Arsenal it was an opportunity to dominate the PL. We didn't take it.

#Pep: [On Kompany] I left him out because he’s been injured for a while and it would be a risk to put him in if he might get injured again.

#Pep: That’s why I would like a little bit more time with him to be sure... But we’re so happy with his progress. #mcfc

The last 5 years has been well under par. Spent shit loads and we still don't have team which we can all say is quality.
