Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

We're all set to have a mass clear out every summer sure, apparently.

He'll flog just Aguero, give Delph a 5 year deal, make Fernando captain and sign Wilshere.

I hope we do mate, all Im saying is lets walk first before we start to run, we are not in the league of Barca, Madrid or Bayern, they wont stand still either so its futile saying we will dominate world football just because Pep is our manager.

You need to read what is written. All I said was that Pep/City were looking to build a great team. World domination was never mentioned.

Great teams get talked about in glowing terms and remembered for the football they played. And hopefully win many trophies ;-)

Much as I love Vincent, and he went a long way to win us stuff, the reality is that all those you had mega rows with Mancini should have been shown the door a while ago.
For when a manager tells a player to jump, the only acceptable comeback is to ask: "How high boss?"
The management siding with the players 4 years ago, although it gave us a one season boost, killed us success wise as the players are not prepared to go the extra mile when the going gets tough as they have no fear of failing to perform.

A few more quotes from Guardiola's press conference:

“The reason why [he didn't feature against Boro or Monaco] is because he didn’t play games because he was injured,” Guardiola Said. “He was a long time injured and sometimes he has arrived and been injured again.

“It was a risk, I wanted to be sure.

“Now he is going to the national team to play more minutes. I wanted to be sure he can compete from the beginning, don’t waste one game because he cannot play 90 minutes, or maybe when we play the last 15, 20 minutes he’s injured again.

“I would like a little bit more time to be sure. But, of course, we are so happy he is fit.

“It was our desire from the beginning of the season but he was not fit. There are a lot of processes, a lot to do when you are not involved.

“Sometimes you need to see he understand that to do that. The first step is to be fit to make a training session and in the last two weeks he’s been there.”

Just like he fell out with yaya, had he never made up with him (forcefully) we'd be in the shitters probably 5th or 6th.... He ain't understanding the impact it has on our team just having VK on that pitch, he gives the whole team extra confidence.
When he was fit. hart was playing. That was controversial for good reason.

If Kompany gets back close to his best, he will play. You can not rationally think otherwise. All the evidence suggests he will move on because City can not afford to have a Captain who does not play. This is a huge shame for club and player, because he was a decisive influence in the past and probably makes the difference between 3rd and 1st. But we haven't seen that Kompany for quite a time. This is all inevitable

Is it Vinnies or Pep's decision not to play ?

Fitness might be physiological not physical. The mind is a very complex thing.

Other less talented & inteligent players than Vincent have recovered their bodies / minds to play at a very high level.

We should stop the groundless speculation & wait for an official comment from those in the know.

He's just like Malcolm Allison if Malcolm had won 6 league titles and 2 European Cups before he took over while widely considered the best coach in the world and one of the greatest of all time

So not at all like Malcolm Allison then.
Actually comparatively given what Malcolm Allison achieved with Joe Mercer I would argue his record compared very favourably. In 1965 Man City were a second division team getting the occasional sub 10000 crowd. By 1970 they had won the League / FA Cup / League Cup / European trophy. I would argue doing that from the base they had is 10 times harder than taking over a team that won the bloody league by 25 points and winning it again - whoop de whoop. You may as well say every Celtic manager is a genius Let's see if Pep is widely considered one of the best coaches in a couple of years - and not an egotistical maniac who cannot see basic obvious flaws and is incapable of flexible thinking in pursuit of the "beautiful game"

I would argue that that's properly tongue sticking out mental.

Yes, those "can't see obvious flaws and incapable of flexible thinking" two time Champions League winning with the best defensive record in every season he's ever managed in football type managers. Loads of them knocking around.
