You are right, Guardiola had a high starting point, he's the best coach in he world and they won a treble.
And from that high starting point he set dozens of club and league records while acheiving what Bayern wanted - turning their success into a permanent position at he top of the European game. That's what he was brought in to do, to stop the "FC Hollywood" reputation that Bayern had where the club was surrounded by drama off the pitch and turn the flashes of success they've had in Europe into a long term stranglehold on the latter stages of the champions league.

Before Pep arrived they had a habit of acheivinng success in a Europe and then going nowhere. After winning in 00/01 they didn't make a semi final for 7 years.
After finishing runner up in 81, it took 5 years to get past the 1/4 finals again
You're bringing up trophies won in 74-76 like they have any relevance at all to Bayern underperforming in Europe for the last 30 years.
And FC Hollywood is a well known, famous phrase used in Germany to describe how Bayern find ways to tear themselves apart and implode whenever they get successful.

I completely agree with you, we woman and moan about ffp but it's our own doing, looking at flop player salaries alone it's like 40 - 50 million a year in wages that are not benefitting the first team, what other team (beside the rags) does that? I'm not surprised that pep is strugling at all...Who is going to buy any of them on these wages? Kompany included. It's a big risk buying him on £10m a year because he has another couple of years on his contract with us doesn't he? We are going to be subsidising wages all over the place soon.
