Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

It will be a particularly sad day for me when Vinnie no longer leads the team out.

Players come and players go but some of them leave a lasting impression in the past it was Trautman and Bell for me. The current team it will be Zabba, Sergio and Vinnie.

Zabba for his heroic efforts and his never say die attitude, Sergio for his goals and the greatest moment in football and Vinnie for his leadership and outstanding defending.

I will always remember his celebration when he scored with that header against the Scum that took us back to the top of the Prem in 2011/12, it is a wonder he didn't do himself a serious injury then.
I would add Silva to that trio.

we are the fools who believe in the press without us fools they would be out of a job

so when they state the obvious and stake its come from a very good sauce why do we take it in we all know vinnie is done and he put the hard yards in to get us over the line too too many times that now he will be lucky to kick a ball again never mind play football at the top again so to all the in media please respect vincent kompany he will say time is up not you or me and when the time comes we thank you vinnie

Joe can't play his football.

It doesn't matter how good or bad he is or how much or little leadership he has, that disqualifies him from playing for the club.

If we had Andy Carroll on the books and he was not only the biggest yes man but also a City legend who scored a goal a game for us he'd be gone too because he doesn't play our football.

I don't know under what pretence people wanted us to keep Hart upon. He'd never be on the pitch, he'd be the third choice keeper. If we all love him so much like everyone is making out, is that what you want for him? To throw his international career away and rot not even in the reserves because we should hoard players?

He didn't need to handle Joe because he was going. He has handled Yaya though, and Kompany, and Zab and Aguero, and all of those who are fit are performing for him.

So not only has he not thrown out these dressing room leaders but instead he's got them playing for their places for the first time in 5 years. That's leadership.

Terrific post, every point smashing the nail firmly on its bonce!

Last year we won the League Cup and lost in semi of Chumps Lge whilst our league challenge faded dramatically after winning the first 5 games. This year we lost early in League Cup / early in Chumps Lge and our league challenge is fading dramatically after winning first 6 games. Only thing better is we are still in the Fa Cup. Therefore we are in a worst position - indisputable. You might mean we have better players etc now and more prospects of inprovement going forward - that I will grant you. But give me 150 million and I can get City in a better position - that's not great management that's chequebook management
Last year we finished GD ahead of 5th and this year it looks like 2nd or 3rd with about 10-12 points more.

And we could win the FA Cup this year.

And still bell ends moan.

So you believe you're a better football manager than Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola, two people are the very highest level of an elite sport, despite having no experience at all and no education within it?

No I never said that - i am pointing out chequebook management is easier than non chequebook management. We bought Sane - a 21 year old regular in Germany, possibly the best country for football in the world - we bought Jesus, considered by a lot of experts in South American football to be the best prospect. I am not sitting here thinking wow - what a manager to buy players such as that - what a genius. It is hardly bloody difficult. What is difficult is making the sum of all parts better than the individuals. Give me 200 million and I will buy Messi or Neymar for example. Now we have better players. So what? Pep to me is arrogant and egotistical - he can not see problems that are slapping him in the face. All this bollocks about "wait till he spends a fortune on our defence" - why? Did he not know our defence was struggling last year? Cos i did. As did most people on here and most expert summarisers. But he chose to ignore it - is that arrogance, or poor management - why would you implement a new philosophy on defenders that aren't upto it

For the record that "lost early in the Chumps League" is the joint second furthest this club has ever gone in the premier European competition in its entire history.
Illogical argument. That's like saying the United have won 2 trophies this season because they won the Charity Shield. You can't progress in a tournament you aren't in which until 6 or 7 years ago we haven't -and we are in a substantially better position as a football club now than any time in the past and so our expectations clearly differ

Akin to saying Balo was going to be a world beater. Or that we should sign Andy Carroll.

I said Andy Carroll would be rubbish for us in 2010 when the whole world was wanking over him.

Balotelli SHOULD have become a world beater and there's no shame in predicting it after the start he made at Inter.

What I didn't do however is slag off the best manager in the world because he's foreigner and likes to pass.
