Guardiola to Axe Kompany (Various Sources)

I don't know how many times this needs repeating seeing as there's very little evidence to suggest that anyone disagrees.

well the way some people jump all over others who dare suggest that he may at times get things wrong it leads people to that conclusion.

It's what people who want to slag Pep off post before they slag him off.

No one is slagging him off either...just pointing out that he has got one or two things wrong, amongst a whole lot of positives he has brought. There is a huge difference.
On on the topic of Kompany you will see that I agree with what Pep is doing (without knowing all the facts). What i disagree with is the idea that Kompany couldn't play in Peps system and that our other defenders are more suited and better players (which simply put is ludicrous)....defensively we have been poor this season...even Pep recognises that with his constant comments along the lines of that other teams need only one or two chances and that we have to be better in both boxes (all of which I agree with)...I also completely agree with his notion that great defending starts further up the pitch with he attackers and midfielders pressing, winning the ball back and maintaining control and possession. What he has done in terms of our team doing that (though not consistently) is nothing far short of miraculous. BUT we also need defenders who can defend when needs be...not against all team are we going to be able to do all of the above and some better teams are going to do exactly what Monaco did and the likes of spurs and liverpool have done to us...its against these teams (usually in the most important of games as well) that we need defenders who can actually defend one on one and as a unit.....this again was proved not to be the case the other night.....they were poor to a man and shocking as a unit in both legs.

Stones has time on his hands, the rest simply are not good enough. This is why many people want to see the return of Kompany. as he is hands down the best defender at the club...a lot of us know that it is HIGHLY unlikely but we can still hope. A city team today for instance with a fully fit Kompany in it stands an even better chance of winning that one without him. That is all i care about....so stop and think before you start going on about some imagined agenda regarding Pep......and if you want proof go back and search posts where i have said regardless of results, I would have this man signed for the next decade as I already regard him so highly. But of course you wont do that cause it proves you wrong

I also see another poster has you pegged regarding your hypocritical nature....you were the loudest voice on here regarding Mancini while he was here (and I even agreed with some of your stuff about him) - but since his departure you are one of the first to jump on people who have ever dared say that one of either Pellegrini or now Pep may get things wrong at times.....

I Guess my analysis of VK's strength and weaknesses is now "slating" or "getting my jollies off"? You are so self righteous sometimes. It's okay for you to disagree with the manager and point out what you don't like but others do the same and suddenly they are the type that get their jollies off. Oh well.

Just so you know, I didnt see it that way.....even though I disagree with some of your assessment.

Pep obviously had been told that Stoke away would be tricky, I just dont think he realised that Stoke at home could also be tricky. Or Boro/Southampton/Everton.

My guess with Kompany is that before all of his recent comebacks the manager was told by the medics that he was fully fit, or as fully fit as he ever was going to be. And then he broke down, either during a match or in training. Its Catch 22 now. Pep isnt going to believe he's injury free until he's played a run of games without picking up an injury and he isnt going to get a run of games because Pep doesn't trust his fitness.

He was probably hoping we'd hit a spell where we got solid top 4, closed games down & then he could bring in Vinny & give him the second half off the bench. Alas.

Plenty are slagging him off. The idea that Pep cannot or doesn't understand defending is a mainstream opinion here.

No one knows if this is true. We haven't seen him play enough the last 3 years to conclude this.

Even is the alternate universe where that's true it still makes you sound like an absolute dick.
I was called thick - so it seemed logical to respond with my acedemic qualifications and current job. I guess I could have just said "no I ain't thick mate" but seemed better to point it out with facts..

He admitted himself after the united match he could not defend long ball and his tactic was just to "pray".
