Should have let him stay at Burnley who seemed keen on keeping him longer.
You can't blame Sturridge either with Tevez, Adebayor and Rocky all big money signings coming in, there was less competition in Chelsea's waffer thin squad and he won the double.
Jo is better than Guidetti. Let Guidetti go score 44 goals in 77 appearances in a 1st division team anywhere before he starts talking.
Our penchant here to overrate youth players is ridiculous. Go watch Obertan and Bebe, 2 players who barely get 1st team action at United, and watch how they tear up the EDS league. Obertan doesn't even celebrate. he is so pissed to be there. Coz he is so much better than all these kids who look great around each other.
I mean wasn't there a practice in which Guidetti trained with the first team, and De Jong kept screaming at him to "put the ball in the net FFS." That is the difference in caliber over a step up. Guidetti is not fit to tie Jo's shoes, I am sorry.
Gutted about this, too early to say if he would have made it or not but he is still young.
I said a few months back that this season has been a waste for him, he is far ahead of those in the EDS, he should of been out on loan all season.
Best of luck to him though, cannot blame him for trying elsewhere, if he feels he can be part of the first team set up elsewhere and he's not that rated here then who can blame him?
Can see him knocking a few in for a team like Brescia/Bari in the future.
Whether that's the level he wants/expects to be playing at is another matter since he talked about deserving a place in the Swedish national team when he hadn't made a start for us...
i think Harry Bunn is showing a lot more for his age than Guidetti, in fact when Bunn and Guidetti have been in the EDS together I think Bunn's been better than him.
I think he could make it at a Premiership team, there's something about him that young strikers often lack, and he's got that positive attitude that can sometimes be overdone and come across as arrogant.
I hope he signs on for another year at least and gets his chance, he's a top prospect and has a much better attitude towards football than Sturridge did when he was here.
