Guidetti

If this move to Celtic goes through, I hope Guidetti has a season similar to the one at Feyenoord.

He's gone through a lot and, back then, had real potential.

Well if he doesn't score a bagful in that league, playing for by far the strongest team, then its probably time he looked at an alternative career.

I hope he doesn't go. I don't think three strikers is enough when two are known to be injury prone. Beating Chelsea is going to be difficult enough this year without handicapping ourselves.

I agree that three strikers is a risk but we only have to get through to Jan when it can be reassessed, and frankly,i'd sooner we didn't have four if Guidetti was that option.

so Guidetti's move scuppered by City incompetence - there's a shock

I'm baffled as to why you associate yourself with our club when the majority of your input regarding such is negative or belittling.

If he goes were a bit short up front with the nigerian lad going out on loan in jan!

Its not definitive he's going on loan yet, however,we still have Hiwula available who imo would not be any worse an option than Guidetti.

Anyway.......John Guidetti has vowed to fight to be City’s fourth striker if his move to Celtic is blocked.

The Sweden under-21 starlet is waiting to hear whether Fifa will allow an appeal, backed by the Scottish FA, to allow his season-long move to Parkhead to go through, even though it missed the transfer deadline.

But if that fails, Guidetti says he will return to City after the international break with his eyes fixed on the spot vacated by Alvaro Negredo when he moved to Valencia on Monday.

“It would be fantastic with Celtic but if it doesn’t go through I will continue to train with a fantastic team at Manchester City and fight to take a spot on the bench, at first,” said Guidetti.

The player has forgotten his woes for now by joining up now with his national squad ahead of the European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against Greece and Turkey.

Guidetti has had a rotten time in the last two years, just when his promising career seemed to be coming to fruition after an excellent season on loan at Feyenoord.

A piece of infected chicken gave him an illness that saw him lose feeling in his leg and bring an abrupt end to his spell in Holland, and after a long rehabilitation he suffered a knee injury.

He scored 20 goals in 23 games for the Dutch club and remains an idol for fans there, who implored their club to bring him back this summer

Well if incompetence is measured by four trophies in the last four seasons long may it continue!!
