Guitar Thread

I love guitars - I need to buy some more...........
You suffer with GAS

Guitar acquisition syndrome. As the owner of 3 Martins, Chris Eccleshall Model A, and numerous other acoustics including home built I fully recognise the symptoms.
I'm in double figures with another couple on the way

Have you ever had a Maton acoustic ?

I watched a recent interview with Snowy White.
He acquired his Les Paul Gold top second hand when he was 18 and it's the only guitar he's ever played on stage, even all the years touring with Pink Floyd and Roger Waters. I really like that, 1 guitar.
He said he took it everywhere, it was even under his chair in posh restaurants which Roger insisted on going too.
Hotel rooms it was under his bed.
He just auctioned it as he's given up playing due to an injury to his arm

Brilliant guitarist is Snowy. A good mate of Peter Greens back in the day.
I also appreciate that - bit like Rory Gallagher (yes he did sporadically play some others) but that one Strat was his Strat.

If I had wealth, I would have loads..........

Can you get a tune out of them though? Iv got a few guitars but always end up playing the beaten up cheap one - suits my playing style more. If I ever have to play a gig the nicer ones always feel amazing haha

Im thinking of selling my epiphone j200 for this reason. Its a really nice guitar that's lived its life in a plush case. Barely a scratch on it. And therefore I look after it and don't leave it lying around. As a result it doesn't get played enough. The beaten up old fender it was bought to replace got played all the time as it was generally lying around somewhere.

Lovely guitar that should be easy to sell. Pretty sure epiphone have released some decent copies in recent years that could be a cheaper replacement? Iv got an old eko with the action taken right down plays incredible came in at leas than 150

Somewhat apt given the sad loss of Sir Michael. Here he is with Mark Knopfler - alright, he's promoting an album - but at least Parky puts him at ease and gleans other information and elicits points of interest.
