The worst thing you can to is judge somebody who likes something you do not. You are bound to have tunnel vision. Thats the whole problem with the world....too many judges.
SPOT ON

also funny how the internet has given rise to people who can sit behind their computers and call other people wankers and slag them off wothout ever having to come into the open.

football holiganism is and was a part of football but here is not really the place to stamp it out.
easy really the next time someone smokes, swears acts drunk of sings a muncih song next to at the ground just pull them up and have this debate with them. if you are a woman and are too scared just get your fella to do it for you.

nothing the hoolies and unsavory element have ever done is as cowardly as the keyboard warriors on here.

Question "Keyboard Warriors or people who can say what they really think without ending up in hospital ?"

or just people who feel free to gob off and insult poeple knowing they have imunity

if these people hold such strong views surely they should be man enough to stand up for them and if they did it may suprise them that so called thugs and hoodlams would respect them for their views and conviction.

I remember that Everton game too, it was a nightmare, stabbings and slashings all over the show. As for the gloryfying hooliganism I don't think by reading a book and giving your opinion on it you are saying it was right or wrong, fact is it happened, still happens and will continue to happen for the forseeable future as I see, football is tribal and all those here condemning hooligans but sing and chant at matches need to take a look at themselves, after all most chants are aimed at baiting the opposition thus creating an atmosphere that could erupt in violence, just my humble opinion for what it's worth.

thats life in a nutshell and exactly what the keyboard warriors have gotten away from real life.

no one should be allowed to insult anyone with total imunity we should all have to answer for our actions.

if people on here had to stand up for their opinions and do this without anonimity this board would be a much better forum and evertone would know who is a thug or biggot and who is a 12 year old calling everyone a wanker!

Violence (or threat of) has always suppressed free speech. When anonimity allows opinion (not abuse) to be expressed why is it bad ?

On this subject, just read a book by Tony "Sully" Sullivan - very interesting if you like this kind of thing. He says it how it was and talks about the beatings he took as well as the ones he gave. As someone said earlier, it was part of the times - a time I grew up in. That was life back then but I would recommend this book for it's laughs, its realism and the detail of how Manchester was back then. Good times!

The last time I did as was suggested on here, asking the person in front of me to sit down, and trying to express my opinion that I'd rather sit and watch the football than the back of the person stood in front of me, I was called a "Munich" and threatened with physical violence. If it were not for the fact that my assailant was being held back by his companions, and was so drunk that he fell over (and into an old lady that was sat next to him) while attempting to hit me, I'd have probably been injured for politely expressing my beliefs that my right to enjoy the match in the manner that I prefer, and in accordance with the published stadium regulations, was more valid than his right to enjoy the match in contravention of those regulations.
My girlfriend was so frightened, she seriously considered never going to another match.
I would like to point out that this was halfway up the third tier, where I would expect the SAFE brigade would concede is the best place for those of us that want to sit and watch the action on the pitch rather than the stands.

Sounds a bad experience but chicken feed compared to a away game in the 70s
