So in your school they have suspended or sent home kids with non-afro hair for having long hair or pony tails?Correct.
If some white boy turned up to the school I work at with a haircut like Hull FC’s Brad Fash, he’d be told that it wasn’t a suitable haircut within the school rules and he’d have to get it cut to a within the suitability rules.
Just like the white girls do when they turn up with bright pink/blue/green or multicoloured dyed hair.
If the rules are ‘not too short, not too long, not too big, not too bright’ that just applies to everyone, not just everyone apart from black people because anti-black racism is in the news a lot.

Schools have always had stupid hair rules. We werent allowed any unnatural colours or hair shorter than a #2. Its not racist at all but see no reason why any rules should exist. Especially when the teachers regularly look more ridiculous.
But that's not what's going on here. Black people aren't showing up to school with their hair dyed pink or with ridiculous hairstyles, and if they do and then cry racism, they'll get a short shrift from other black people. The issue is when they turn up to school with their hair in its natural state and are told that it doesn't meet the dress code of the school because 'neatness' is determined according to white people's hair, and often by white people. You're putting the burden on black students to actually put a lot of effort into making sure their hair meets the standards of 'neatness' determined by the school, often at considerable time expense. A quick google suggests that it takes 4-10 hours to get your hair braided. Compare that to a white girl who can brush her hair and put it in a ponytail in 30 seconds. And even after all that effort, you might turn up at school and be told that the braids are too thick or in some sort of other 'exotic' or 'attention-grabbing' style that is unacceptable according to the whims of some teacher.
Anyway, here's a video on the issue from South Africa.
Here's another one from America:
You could argue that extensions could be blanket banned, but the longer the video goes on, the more you hear from other students who have had to deal with issues related to natural hair or common black hairstyles.

I'm a bloke, 35, work in a professional client facing capacity, have hair down to my arse. I've not noticed anything weird or discriminatory.
