Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

Guess it goes well with that comedy blog article you sent a link to. 'We cracked the BBC's secret racist code' or whatever it's called. I'm a big fan of conspiracies but i'm afraid I just don't buy this one.

At the end of the day Alan Hansen and friends are paid to provide an opinion and as the saying goes 'you cant please everybody all of the time'. The minute he says something racist about Mario then I will join in with this campaign but as far as I'm concerned the BBC pundit's have only ever questioned his attitude and that has nothing to do with his race.

As Didsbury Dave points out the whole thread is an embarrassment and I seriously hope opposing fans aren't reading this as they will be having a right old laugh at our expense. Just as we did when Kenny Dalglish claimed there was a conspiracy against Liverpool FC last season for all manner of things.

Seriously, lighten up, get off your pointless crusade, enjoy life and stop making our club look stupid

How odd....some guy who joined a few days ago lecturing us about in his words a "Pointless crusade".
I often wonder what paid media type's lurk hidden in the shadows on this site suddenly springing into life to protect undeclared interests and attempt to deflect or limit or argue against potentially damaging comments to clients developing to a wider audience.
Its called democratic freedom to exercise an opinion and the "Stop making our club look stupid " is at best juvinile.
Its nothing to do with the Football club, the opinions on this issue are genuine and a serious concern to the individual fans. I believe its like like throwing a small pebble into a pond which starting to create ripples outward to the establishment.
Or maybe I am just an old cynical hippie

What a load of bollocks!!!
The BBC pundit (who is paid a staggering £40k per show) in front of millions of viewers on live sport event calling a young Intl footballer "Stupid - Petulant - Liability -Lazy - Offers nothing because he's unreliable - Nutter - Thick - Daft...." and to say that's okay, because it's his opinion?!! Bizarre!!!
Are you actually saying that these sort of comments are acceptable?

"his goals was down to defensive mistakes"
"he's having a go at his team mate"
"He'll need to score ten hat-tricks next season to get my respect"
"if brains where petrol he wouldn't get out the garage"
"Balotelli has achieved nothing in his career yet" [lack of knowledge shocker]

NO, it's absolutely not acceptable!!
The BBC have acknowledged and admitted in response to my complaints, .... "We [BBC] understand you felt the commentators and presenters were biased against Mario Balotelli. We appreciate in your view, they made a series of snide and offensive remarks which were unnecessary.

FFS, even neutral fans had enough of Hanson's attack on Mario!

Let's disregard the fact that it's clearly a joke and make a series of grand assumptions. Let's assume that the half dozen emails sent by kids on here got past the £16K a year lacky who's job it is to knock-up stock responses to these kind of Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells emails. Let's assume that someone actually cared enough to look at this comment seriously and try to assess whether it was a breach of this clause.

Shall I show you the item which the solicitor reprenting Hansen or Lawrenson or whichever smug pundit came out with this comment would present as his only piece of evidence?

Case closed, without even needing a diagram of a garage or an engine.

Let's be quite clear here. If brains were petrol he'd stick a match inside his own head to have a look how much was in the tank.
so in your world if someone makes a bit if a gaff its ok to constantly ridicule them in front of millions of people?
seems fair

no agenda yourself dave?
I said earlier, squirty, my agenda is common sense. And a little embarrassment because if I saw this on a united forum I'd piss myself laughing.

I assume you think I am in some way against Mario balotelli. Let me just clarify things. I think balotelli is a top class player. He works hard, he's quick, he's got vision, he's a clever mover, a good finisher and a stunning striker of the ball. I've believed that since his first game, and have defended him consistently on this forum. I'm glad he's staying at city and I even enjoy his antics-off the pitch. On the pitch I accept that, like many genius players(and I think he can be that), he does daft stuff. It's a problem, but one I hope he and the manager can go some way towards solving. But it will always come with the territory.

My problem here is that arseclenchingly embarrassing blog and this daft 'crusade'. We are not defending mother Theresa against the slings and arrows of the heathens. This is not some poor innocent kid being bullied.

The man's a fucking headcase. A loose cannon. A sandwich short of a picnic. Everyone knows that. He appears to go out of his way to prove that point every other week. Hell, i think he cultivates the image and it will make him a very wealthy man.

To deny that is delusion.

The BBC made a few jibes, to an audience of English people, for an England game, just like theyve been doing for 50 years. At worst it was vaguely jingoistic. Big deal. Move on. Stop taking yourselves so seriously. None of you gave a fuck until it happened to be a city player.

The whole world is not out to persecute mamchester city. It never was. It's your paranoia.

We are the champions. Enjoy life and let it go.
if you could find an example of my paranoia on this thread I would welcome it and then check in for some treatment.
I agree that Mario is is own worst enemy, but having spent over thirty years working with young people like him I feel its unethical for the BBC to allow the character assassination from a couple of half-wits to continue
without doubt, throughout the tournament, Lawrenson and Hansen have been an embarrassment. I'm not 'angry from Tunbridge Wells', but even I cringed at the poor attempts of these two lazy 'experts' to proffer an opinion on said footballer.
To belittle others of a similar opinion is poor form on your part, posters are entitled to opinions on both sides of the divide, and the forum welcomes a good debate, but the tiresome jibes of those with a different opinion to you gets just that, tiresome
I haven't emailed the BBC, and nor will I.
They are wrong and they will never admit it. I have emailed previously regarding comments from the fat twunt Green regarding Drogba which i felt were very much against their code of conduct, but to no avail as he's still an opinionated racist bigot and still on the airwaves. As I, and the rest here, are taxed by the Government for the BBC then I think they should be able to voice their concerns.

Thank you for you concerns about enjoying life. I do to the full. I'm sat here in my lovely new away shirt with tickets to the Bird's Nest stadium in front of me.
But then again I've been very lucky in life and I'm not a 16K a year worthless lackey. Shame you have such a low opinion of the roles people play in society and that it's determined by monetary recompense. And yet your own little homily is about 'enjoying life', quite ironic.

I hope you are able to see that I don't feel the club has been persecuted, but I certainly do feel that two individuals are being crass, underhand and unwarranted in their abuse.

Or are radicalised City supporters the only people in the country who can spot institutionalised racism?

So many questions, any answers?

They're even more powerful and insightful than that, the city Internet militants. Last year they uncovered that all the referees were paid to make decisions against us, and that the whole of football, from Uefa, down to the FA, Via Sky sports, the newspapers and the BBC, were working in tandem to make sure we didn't win the league.

Im so glad we've got these guys on our side. And what an amazing coincidence that they all support city- the very club suffering all these indignities.
I'll ask again - why do you feel the need to mock and belittle people who have an opinion you don't share?

Hardly surprising that you can't see the problem with someone mocking and belittling a player is it?

well done PB, you said that in fewer words than I managed

Hahaha I'm loving the clumsy attempt to make me into the bad guy by saying I said that people on £16k a year are worthless. Funny, but not surprising from some.

The point was very simple. The people answering your emails have no clout. So you're wasting your time. If you need it spelling out in even more Janet and John language just ask.

I actually respect the people in the complaint call centre because they have to deal with 100s of these type of emails every day and remain polite.

Yet again Monkfish using the word radicalised to characterise anyone with different point of view. Shame. He makes a lot of valid points that are real issues within this topic thread then blows it with that use of his favourite word. Anyway bored of the thread that started with some valid concerns which appeared to impact on broadcasters, and has descended into a forum for some to belittle other fans views. Puerile statements about not being true City fans are not acceptable and arrogant.

Oh, Mickey taking suddenly not allowed on blue moon, is it not? Sarcasm suddenly banned?

Well that's funny, because you've been the expert at it for 5 years.

You hypocrite.

As DD made the comparison, I couldn't let it lie.

Mario Vs Mother Teresa.

One a victimised young adopted kid, trying to make sense of life in what for him must be a very complicated world. Racially abused one minute by his fellow countrymen but then acclaimed as their saviour.

The other a bigotted old women who amongst other weird religious beliefs rejected the idea that rape victims should be allowed abortions. She also glamourized poverty in the service of her own cult. In her own words:

"I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people."
