Hansen, Lawrensen and Shearer bring shame on the BBC

As DD made the comparison, I couldn't let it lie.

Mario Vs Mother Teresa.

One a victimised young adopted kid, trying to make sense of life in what for him must be a very complicated world. Racially abused one minute by his fellow countrymen but then acclaimed as their saviour.

The other a bigotted old women who amongst other weird religious beliefs rejected the idea that rape victims should be allowed abortions. She also glamourized poverty in the service of her own cult. In her own words:

"I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people."
As we slide further off into the realms of the ridiculous, I will take that as my cue to leave the thread.

There are none so blind as those who won't see.

It was you who made the comparison. And I was just pointing out that while Mario is just an ordinary 21 year old lad with too much dosh, Mother Teresa was someone who rather than alleviate suffering, glorified in it.

Your reaction just confirms what I always thought that you are an old reactionary who probably kneels at the alter of Maggie Thatcher.

Let's not stand up for what we believe is right. DD thinks its pointless. Just 3 initial complaints were enough to see the back of Jonathan Ross from the BBC.

There were 100's of complaints after the England game, and again after the semi final, perhaps it was coincidence, or perhaps the BBC took notice as we all saw their bit on Mario yet Alan Hansen still waited to offer his bile. Hansen has before shown himself to be a racist.  So no surprise there.

DD, If your brains were petrol you wouldn't get out of the garage.
You are a sad little man who no doubt has seen very little of the world.
Stuck in a time when things were considered better, where the young respected their elders and footballers were good and honest, working class Hero's.

Your conduct, knowledge and opinions on bluemoon have shown you to be quite the moron.
I'm yet to see or hear Mario do or say anything as stupid as 'we'll win nothing with Mancini.'

My opinions of you are low, I believe you to have a basic education, living a pointless life, in no way inspiring anyone in anyway, most likely still living with your parents despite being well into your 40's.

As I say these are just my opinions.

Now imagine I am a paid expert on the BBC and I'm allowed to air these opinions without you being afforded any opportunity to defend or even offer any sort of counter argument.
Would you consider that fair & balanced? Remember these are just my opinions.

Mario has/had no way of defending himself, myself and others feel that to be unfair, hence our complaints.

I guess many would consider following a football team a waste of time, or posting 1000's of times on a forum a little pointless but yet you, we, people do it.

If each time you came on here everyone who shared my opinion just called you a thick fucker because of things you've said in the past would find this fair? If everytime you went to work your boss or co-workers called you thick or selfish or ignorant each and every day no matter what you had or were doing. Would you find that fair?

I think you are a thick, lonely little man. However I'm happy that you have the opportunity to defend yourself, or voice your opinions about me. You may well not care what I think of you, you may not care to respond but you do have the opportunity to do so, something Mario does not.

The basis of my complaint to the BBC was Mario was being bullied, with no balance in opinions or opportunity for Mario to defend himself.

I am an early 30's white male with a University education, I run my own compan, I live in Cheshire, with my  better half and my dogs, I have spent time and worked in Austrailia, America, South America, Asia & Africa. I have had a season ticket for over 20 years, I have been to 100's of away games. Irrelevant to my post, but relevant to my complaint, I'm not just a teenager who loves Balotelli.
I found the BBC's comments about him to be disgusting, unbalanced and bordering on racial bullying.

You talk about embarrassing the club. You and your anti Mancini agenda were embarrassing. Forming your 'negative Mancini' opinions based on what the red tops were saying was embarrassing. Not being able to see that a manager who signed primarily attacking players would eventually play attacking football was embarrassing, being so vocal all over the Internet was & is embarrassing.

Point being you make mistakes, I make mistakes but I, you are always afforded the opportunity to respond.

FFS, even neutral fans had enough of Hanson's attack on Mario!

You got to love it when a Liverpool fan is saying this:

"Balotelli has 20 goals in 26 starts for Man City. That's more than Carroll, Suarez, Kuyt, Henderson, Adam and Downing combined."

A very good post on many levels.

Mario is victimised by the BBC and a lot of it is to do with him being a) a foreigner and b) black. Throw in the fact that he is talented, good looking, rich and young and the combination is just too much for the horrible BBC pundits.

They're even more powerful and insightful than that, the city Internet militants. Last year they uncovered that all the referees were paid to make decisions against us, and that the whole of football, from Uefa, down to the FA, Via Sky sports, the newspapers and the BBC, were working in tandem to make sure we didn't win the league.

Im so glad we've got these guys on our side. And what an amazing coincidence that they all support city- the very club suffering all these indignities.
I'll ask again - why do you feel the need to mock and belittle people who have an opinion you don't share?

Hardly surprising that you can't see the problem with someone mocking and belittling a player is it?
Oh, Mickey taking suddenly not allowed on blue moon, is it not? Sarcasm suddenly banned?

Well that's funny, because you've been the expert at it for 5 years.

You hypocrite.
LOL! There you go again....

On DDs point, is it something to do with Mancini?

A different angle and all that?

He does have a point. It's a form of selection bias; people will remember them slating City but will never remember them slating others so presume that people just indiscriminately slate City.

I'm by no means defending Hansen's comments which were mean spirited at best, but this is his personal opinion which he is asked to share a part of his job. He didn't break any laws, he certainly didn't say anything racist (which is a ridiculous strawman to build and cheapens the case against those who are legitimately racist against Balotelli), and he gave his analysis as he saw fit.

His job is not to be an expert on football, his job is to give opinions on football, these are not the same thing. Gary Neville is paid to be an expert on football. Alan Hansen is paid to be a critic.

I also don't remember people having these sorts of campaigns when he was slating players of other clubs.

Or are radicalised City supporters the only people in the country who can spot institutionalised racism?

So many questions, any answers?

So your viewpoint should not be challenged on here. And if it is its known as mocking and belittling?

Simple question. Why is it that only radicalised Manchester City supporters have spotted this racism?

Funny nobody seems to be able answer this very simple question as it is 'belittling them'. I actually think the question does mock you, but only mocks you with the truth of this matter.

I also understand you have probably invested too much ego to back down now, so like DD I will also call it a day and allow your to lead your merry band wherever you see fit. Save the Whale.
