Happy 90th Skip. The 76/77 season was an amazing ride for the then 14 yr old me. So close. Great team managed by a true gent and a proper legend.

I seem to be the only one whe remembers this but I will never forget Skip clearing the ball off the line with a bicycle type kick in front of the newly seated North Stand mid 70s?,
To be honest watching as a young kid he looked far to old to be doing that sort of thing even then? Happy Birthday!

Decent articles on the OS to be fair.

I'm not asking for another (!) statue...but think there should be more of a formal recognition of Book at the ground considering his achievements across his multitude of roles at the club. Not to mention his class and dignity too.
He is without compare really.

A Mercer style mosaic? With him lifting the ECWC under the brolly in Vienna one one side. One as manager at 76 LC final or as youth team coach on the other?

My first City Capt so similar memories to people on this thread. Fond memories of the 76 lge Cup run and the 76/77 season.
I see Tony occasionally walking down Moss Lane in Sale and although not great on his feet he looked more steady than Casimero did on Sunday. All the best Tony.
