Happy St Patrick's Day

A. Did anyone ask you to?
B. How many "ordinary" English folk celebrate April 23rd? I spent my first 20 years in Manchester, and I don't ever remember any big celebrations marking the day. Which is a shame. It should be marked in some way.
As England has its own church thanks to Fat Henry doing lots of shagging, why should the English venerate Papist Saints, after all we do have a Protestant Monarchy thanks to the schism caused by Fat Henry the shagger, I am no theologian but I am sure Protestantism does not do Sainthood as prayer is a direct line to the Lord where as Catholicism venerates Saints and can pray to the Lord through them. As I say though I am no Theologian.

Are all saints papists? Interesting viewpoint.

He was never canonised in what is ow the Catholic Church. This was pre the schism caused by Henry.

See excerpt from the Wiki piece I added earlier.
Patrick was never formally canonised,[2] having lived prior to the current laws of the Catholic Church in these matters. Nevertheless, he is venerated as a Saint in the Catholic Church and in the Eastern Orthodox Church, where he is regarded as equal-to-the-apostles and Enlightener of Ireland. He is also regarded as a Saint by the Anglican Communion and the Lutheran Churches.[3]

No offence meant Jim. It was intended as a light-hearted comment (hence the winking emoji).
