Harry Kane

I reckon it'll add 41 pages in the next 24 hours. Whenever there's a whiff of 'it might no happen' the same boring people come out repeating the same boring things about Kane not being good enough which leads to the same tedious back and forth with one side going "he's obviously world class" whilst the other side stick their fingers in their ears and parrot the same "I want Haaland" refrain ad nauseam.

All for very pantomime. The game tonight will only increase the noise.
Still say he arrives tomorrow Billy

99% of the media was saying it was virtually done for weeks.
No they weren't. It was only the very last few days reports ramped up. For the most part it was silence with the odd story about how Villa won't sell and how they're confident Grealish will extend.

And even right towards the end there were still conflicting reports about Grealish.

I had forgotten just how predictable the British football media are. The Kane/Grealish pursuits remind me of when we went after Sterling in particular. These fuckers have very short memories, because I remember when the rags used to take the best players in the league, and the fucking manager there was lauded and applauded for it. This was a quote from back then "the best players want to play in the best team".

Dont understand the big game thing with Kane. You can win the league by losing all games against the top 4 as long as you beat all the other teams. Kane scores for fun against those teams. If you do math top 4 teams excluding city gives you 18 points if you beat 2nd to 4th. If you beat the rest of the 17 teams twice thats 102 points hopefully I’ve done that correct.

So if Kane can smash goals in for fun against all, the lower teams we win the league. i don’t say top 6 as he scores for fun against Leicester and Arsenal. 102 points is more than the centurions. Even if you lose a couple of games against the lower part of the table it’s still enough to win the league if you beat the majority home and away.

So this fascination with beating the top teams doesn’t win you the league it helps but doesnt get you the title. United came second as they struggled with teams in the bottom half of the table last season. While City beat them convincingly giving us the title. Id take a striker like Kane that goes missing against the top 4 but then scores for fun against Burnley, Leicester, Arsenal, Villa, Everton etc than a striker that just shows up in the ”Big games”.

You get Kane you win the league/Retain.

do folk on here reckon that Kane is £120 million better than Gabriel Jesus ?.....personally I dont, and Jesus is still learning and young, if the Kane thing doesn't happen, tough titty, we didn't do too bad last year !

Haaland will end up at Madrid next season. Think City know that, hence their pursuit of Kane. Bar going a whole season without a striker.

I think the whole season without a new striker is very much likely tbh. I have thought this for a fair while now. Something about the whole Kane deal meant I was never very confident about it. And also it appears City have no Plan B which beggars belief as I think playing with false 9s all the time we'll be found out this time as it's no longer a surprise.

I've seen a few opinions on here saying they are not bothered about Kane, could take or leave him, or don't want him.
Whilst respecting all opinions, I can't help but suspect this is a hedging all bets exercise and preparation for him possibly not coming.

Harry Kane is a world class striker who would improve any team in the world.

We need a striker desperately.

He wants to leave Spurs (can't blame him really) and join us.

We have the money and Pep wants him.

I don't think he will play today and we will sign him within the next week to ten days.

It will happen.

True, last few days they were saying Grealish had changed his mind. The silence from City is deafening, says a lot more than these clowns in the media taking a guess at what might be happening

I like your optimism but I don't think it does anyone any favours to oversimplify transfer fees in that way.

Do you not see the same tedium from the 'it's on' flappers and pretend itk attention seekers? If not I have some magic beans and 3000 pagew Messi and Pogba threads you may be interested in.

If Levy stands firm and doesn’t sell Kane he will be lorded for that by the football media. All the Spurs fans will instantly forget about Levy’s lack of trophy success, his managerial record, and the debt, while he’s been in-charge of Spurs. The only thing Levy has got to show for his time in-charge of Spurs is a new stadium, and a very healthy bank personal account.

No, I for one don’t think this. I think Jesus has a value somewhere around 60-70 million and Kane has a value of around 120-130 million in today market.

Is Kane worth twice the amount Jesus is is debatable but if you go purely on goals and assists then yes he is.

Jesus however adds more to the game than just that.

From a marketing perspective in our home market Kane is worth more though, as is having 6 of a potential starting eleven from the England team in the city line up, one of whom is the England captain.

I think if you stacked the £120m up on the penalty spot and kicked balls at it it would be more of a goal threat than Gabriel Jesus

no maybe not, but we are still faced with having only Jesus as a sort of recognised forward player, and granted Kane would move the team on a notch, but without Kane Jesus is still learning his stuff and a good player who should only get better, but the noises coming out of London dont sound too good for Citys chances of landing him from Levyland

yes agree the marketing alone would almost pay for the transfer, maybe not to the extent Messi would but imagine it would be a good earner

And for our team Kane’s attributes are maybe more valueble than Jesus’s.
