Harry Kane

Not happen as like haaland too expensive . We will be looking at the £60-£90 million bracket to sign someone .

May as well forget winning the CL then.

We need a consistent, reliable goal scorer to put away the chances we create. Look at Bayern last night, without Lewandowski they went out despite their possession and chances.

If we buy an average player we’ll get average results. If the owner, board and Pep are genuinely ambitious for a CL trophy then we need a striker of the level of Haaland, Mbappé, Neymar, Lewandowski and Kane. I guess from those there are only two fairly realistic targets; Haaland or Kane. Neither will be less than £100 million. But you don’t win the top trophies by being stingy, we won’t win a CL final with Danny Ings up front!

Why on earth does a consistent reliable goalscorer have to cost over £100M?

Did Haaland cost Dortmund £100M? Did Lewandowski?

I think Haaland should be and probably is our top target but pretending there are only 5 forwards worth our time in world football is just insane.

You seem very well informed or is that just your opinion ?
It’s obviously entirely based on the fact we haven’t gone higher than that before.
Ignoring the context of this summer completely. We are losing the club’s biggest marquee player, and most legendary striker. We also haven’t spent money on a starting forward since Sterling who cost nearly £50M 6 years ago (pre-Neymar money).

City’s limit a few years ago was £50M. Before that it was £40M. Now it’s £70M. I would be completely unsurprised if we smashed our transfer record this summer.

IMO if we don't get haaland then we will most likely get Kane, the club have been very open lately about liking him (especially as a backup to haaland) and even kane's side has started to make their move.

We could fully well know we are getting haaland and the kane links are just being used as a negotiation tactic, or we could be setting it up incase we don't get haaland.

This is all personal opinion and feeling, but letting aguero go and so early, makes me think the club are very confident about the ST position.
