Harry Kane

I think you are now in the position arsenal were 10 years ago. The new stadium needs to be paid for, squad investment will be taking a back seat, and you'll be a selling club.

They are in a much worse situation than that.

Without Kane, Spurs are going to struggle to finish in the top 10.

Villa are spending really well, even accepting they lose Grealish. Arsenal are giving Arteta some money to work with, Bielsa is getting some better players, Leicester aren't going backwards. The top 4 is already settled.

Wolves will probably bounce back because their last season was unusually negative, hence Nuno going.

Spurs were 3 points ahead of 10th last season. Does anyone think they're going to do better without Kane?

Do you understand the difference between long term debt and short term debt? Do you understand the ability to refinance long term debt? Are Spurs in a position of having to sell players to service debt or even other players wages? Nope, even after a season with no fans we still arent in that position. Its not the amount of debt a club has that is the danger its the period that debt covers and the amount that needs to be paid to service it.

In the shit mate....yep, you've refinanced the BoE loan with £250mil which you had no need of before the pandemic and no immediate cash flow problem but let's face it, your finance costs in 2020 accounts was £45mil per year.

Sure, the return of fans will benefit you hugely but what about the other income streams?

Europe last year, what was it? £70mil? And £100mil the year before? This year you might get £15mil IF you have a half decent run. A HUGE fall in revenue and you aren't going to get close to the big bucks CL money this year are you?

Profits from player sales? Last 2 years was just £26mil in total and the lowest by far from the bigger clubs... who else is going to bring good funds in this year?

Stadium naming rights? That went well didnt it - £0

Sinking ship mate and you need income. Kane sale gives you a respite and Levy knows it and wants it despite the bluster. City obviously know it as well.

Do you think Spurs in their financial position are going to pay £20m a year to a player who is skipping training and will purposely attempt to rock the boat?

Again, we don't care if you do. We'll play false nine for another year and then get him for £60m next summer after he's spent a year fucking you up. It genuinely doesn't matter to us.

As M Bison once said, to you the day that Manchester City came knocking on your door was the biggest day of your life. To us, it was a Tuesday.

Well when Ben white is going for 50 million

Grealish for 100

Kane is definitely going to cost at least 150 + extra considering what Levy is like, if he's to sell someone he doesn't want to it's going to cost over their value, Bale wasn't worth more than Ronaldo when we sold him to Madrid, but we got more for him.
It must be wonderful in your head. Debt doesn’t matter and COVID-19 was just some shit that happened on the news. You are wasting your time on here. Go and earn some big bucks at UEFA. You’ll fit right in. The decree absolute came through in your divorce from reality.

Do you have a week in September free to book in your head? It’d be the ultimate staycation.

That's the point the Spurs fans are missing. Levy really wants/ needs to sell, but not be seen as the bad guy in it.

Point taken, but our chairman is keen to avoid inflating the market as the game as a whole suffers. You'll notice we don't feature on the table you posted which clearly shows which clubs are pushing spending beyond (their own) means. We could easily spunk £300m this summer without a problem, but it's not great for the game - watch what happens to the price of your targets once Levy has 160m burning a hole in his pocket.
All clubs have a responsibility (buying and selling) to stop things getting silly. I'd rather we miss out on Kane than do to the game what the Bale transfer did in 2013.

Here's the thing. You're new around here.

Do you know how often we have heard this pedantic and tedious shit? Every single year since about 2008. There's always some opposition fans for our major targets who come and say how we're never getting them and they're actually a massive club and we just don't understand their situation. In fact it happened with Walker too.

But they all come, eventually. Some might be twists and some might take turns but we end up getting them for the price we want. The opposition fans end up disappearing and all that's left after all the bleating, all the accounting arguments, all the tough guy Levy pantomime is Harry Kane in a City shirt.

i don't think we are saying that he wont go to City (or Chelsea or United or whoever). He clearly wants to leave. We are saying you are going to pay £160m (give or take a few million)

And as many wise posters have said it is now or never. If he doesn't get his move this summer, then City will move on without him. And the following summer you will be in for the next big thing. Levy knows that so he will see it as £160m or Kane never leaves. Both are good outcomes. My guess is that Levy prefers the £160m option. As does Kane. I am not sure about City.
